AU should take a hard run at Mullins....just like they hired Tubby out from Ole Miss.....now that would be a home run

Too bad Saban doesn't do the same for the places he's coached

That's apples and oranges compared to Kirby leaving UA to coach their in-state rival the very next year.

But pretty good bait for some others on here.

Smart will not coach at Auburn because he wants to be head coach at Bama.

I don't understand the objection to Mullins...he is a douche?.....so is Saban.....do you want a douche who can win football games and pull AU out the abyss or do you go for another hire in the Chizik/Dooley/Shula vein?....i know which one I would pick...

He'd be my second choice out of all the names that are being tossed around. I wouldn't mind giving him a chance.

that's actually pretty solid considering their history.

As an Auburn fan/alum/donor/season ticket holder I would not want Kirby Smart at AU for the same reason that I think it was a mistake for Tenn to hire Sunseri.

As long as Saban is in Tuscaloosa, you are going to have to beat Bama to win the SEC. With a coach who cut their teeth and learned their scheme from Nick, Bama will always have the upper hand.

I was thinking about this sitting in Neyland Saturday night. In getting ready for the game, all Bama's OC had to do was go to Kirby or Nick and say "If I put this package out there, how would you counter?" They tell him, and he has a plan for how to counter the defense. He is, in effect, in Sunseri's head because he is working with Sal's teachers.

You don't have to convince me. I'd be fine with Charlie Strong on AU's sideline.
