He has done more than the current LSU head coach. Low bar I know but he has.

You wanna take a look at the record of Lane Kiffin against good teams? It’s extremely average. The biggest problem Lane has in life is Lane. If he would shut up and coach he might could do something like actually coach in a title game or playoff. He can’t stop making life about him long enough to do something crazy like that. If he is a elite coach then where is the record to support it?

Who said Lane was an elite coach? I think he's a good coach and has shown that he's good at navigating the portal and NIL era. I'm happy with him so far.

If you prefer DeBoer losing 4 games a year, then that's your prerogative. DeBoer has basically been Brian Kelly level for Alabama so far though, and he took over a drastically better situation than BK did.

Dude you are making my point for me. Deboer has really been that great but has still done more than Lane. Why the hell everyone thinks he is the next Saban I do not know. All he has to do is prove it. He falls flat every year and comes up a little short.

You guys posted this over here. If you were any bit objective at all you would've known people were gonna call him out for squeaking when tries to yell.

The problem is you can't be objective at all right now.

If you invited him into your house and he took a shite on your couch, you'd scoop it up, have it preserved and hung on your wall.

Based on the information available, it's mostly because Lane coached at a place with a postseason ban and DeBoer didn't. I know you like to talk about technicalities, but he did enough to make a 12 team playoff, at least twice in 6 years at Ole Miss.

Lane's lack of accomplishments don't really bother me, it's hard to win the SEC at Ole Miss, no one has done it since integration. He was only at Tennessee for a year, and USC had a postseason ban and roster sanctions.

Alternatively, accomplishments don't mean a ton. DeBoer was great at Washington and has been just okay at Alabama, considering he took over a semifinal team.

Who is saying he's the next Saban? I swear, some of you just make stuff up to rage bait yourselves. If some troll told you that, then you should laugh in their face. I would too.

Zero chance Kiffin didnt orchestrate this, and I love it.

Sounds like something women would worry about.

And the word is "objective", not "subjective".

I always wondered what it would sound like if Morty gave a halftime speech.

Probably not, no one here is truly objective. We all have agendas and talking points that we try to push.

Saturday night you would have thought it was Saban back on the sideline at LSU.Lane is the greatest. Everyone was slobbering all over him and he won a game against a bad team. The talk about how great Lane is and what his achievements are is miles apart. Lane is an average coach. That what his record says he is. At least Deboer has an excuse for being average. He just showed up in the SEC and the South 3 years ago. Lane had 2 or 3 years at Bama and then has had a couple of years or so as head coach at Ole Miss. yet somehow Deboer has done more so far. How if Lane is a great coach.

It’s not that I think Lane is a terrible coach. His upside could be sky high. The same thing that makes him as relevant as he has been though is the same thing that holds him back from being extremely elite like Kirby. It’s his immaturity. The noise and chaos that surrounds him keeps him from achieving really great things. He can’t separate it out though. The immaturity makes him relevant but keeps him from really being great.

They only include his Bama tenure when talking about where he's been fired, the wins don't matter.

Ha. I’ll admit to being guilty of this. I’ll add the qualifier that I just use his Bama CFP/firing fiasco to justify Ole Miss not allowing him to coach in the playoffs.
I hated him at USC and UT. When he got to Bama i recognized his elite level play calling, and loved him. I liked him even more at Ole Miss

I hope he doesn’t finally have his shite together at LSU. After one game it looks like he does. If he can keep them motivated like this every week, he’s going to be tough to beat

If LSU fans talking shite bothers you, you probably shouldn't be on what is essentially an LSU board. That's going to happen.

As far as that goes, it seems like most rival fans tend to exaggerate what is actually said here. I have not seen any LSU fans saying Kiffin is Saban or saying LSU is going to win the natty. If any did say that, I'm sure it was only one or two people.

As far as his accomplishments, none of that really makes a difference to me. He made the playoff last year, would have probably won the same games that Ole Miss won anyway. I view the conference championship as pointless these days, if you feel better because DeBoer made it there and got blown out, then that's up to you.

Saban would have 2 more rings if Lane could call plays or stop making life about himself.

You are ungrateful.

You expect at least 43 in a CFP game. No wonder he hates yall.

At least you admit it

They'll have some bad games, every team/coach does. I don't think he's an elite head coach, but he's pretty good and should give you a chance to win in most games. It should be fun either way though.
