1. After the 2021 Oklahoma State win, all was well when I bedded down that evening.

However during the wee hours of the night, coach Riley and half our coaching staff hopped on a plane and departed to Los Angeles without warning. OU fans were shocked, Stoops jumped in and coached the win against Oregon, and Caleb Williams departed shortly after.

Riley’s departure felt like multiple gut punches.

2. Ole Miss is having an amazing season while their head coach is actively interviewing for jobs. I’d imagine the vibe between the President, AD, and Kiffin is awkward and tense. These interviews are probably on players minds as well. If you’re committed to Ole Miss, why not just say so? At least it gives the AD time to find a replacement.

With Lincoln, the pain and shock was sudden. With Lane, you’ll have to wait until the Egg Bowl, receive the pain slowly bit by bit, and hope he perceives Ole Miss better than LSU and Florida.

My answer: Lane is a jerk and I would not want him as the head coach of my favorite team under almost any circumstances.

If Lane leaves for LSU without coaching the playoffs its 100x worse than what Riley did.

I don't know, man. The long drawn-out scenario feels like it would suck worse. OU regressed each year under LR as well so I think many of us were low-key happy to see he was leaving.

I don’t know an Ole Miss fan who isn’t pretty much over it at this point.

What Lincoln did is way worse IMO.

Kiffin is worse by a long shot. Because it’s part of his personality. Which means it’s likely to repeat itself

I expect most here will say the Kiffin situation, as it has been labeled, is worse due to familiarity with OM. In fact Ole Miss fans could read the writing on the wall and had the better part of half a season to get used to it.

Sooner fans however will say otherwise. First of all they were blindsided by LR's sudden departure on Sunday following the regular season upset win by OSU over OU but what came out afterwards really made everyone's blood boil when we learned he essentially tanked what had been an undefeated season the month before traveling to California during OU's bye week for "recruiting purposes" but was in fact finalizing the details of his new position with USC. Caleb Williams going with him hurt though not unexpected since LR was the reason he had come to OU.

So the Riley deal was worse because he was so sneaky about it and then sprung it after the deal was in place.

Kiffin is a repeat a-hole who does this all the time and has a history of it. Riley may be just as bad but yet to be determined
