Yeah but there’s a major difference—LSU is not in the league with Bama and shouldn’t even be put in the same sentence with them. Auburn and LSU are more alike than LSU and Bama

That’s what happens when a State (Louisiana) is ranked 50/50 in the Nation in:
- Obesity rates
- Diabetes
- Homicides
- Dead last in Education
- Dead last in infrastructure
So now you have a State full of fat, drinks, with amputated limbs who can’t read nor write deciding to dump hundreds of millions into buying out the Shrimp Boat Captain, BK, LK and an “NFL Roster” by mortgaging the State’s future into Private Equity, the Governor misappropriating tax dollars, and robbing their own State’s Children’s Hospitals, combined with the backing from the sale of fried chicken and a cabal of injury attorneys.
IT WAS WORTH IT ALL
- Obesity rates
- Diabetes
- Homicides
- Dead last in Education
- Dead last in infrastructure

He also took over the top roster in CFB. Kiffin as well as Saban didn’t have that luxury. Sure Kiffin spent $50MM on the roster. He also had to completely flip the roster.
The lack of talent and just plain lack of development of players at the end of the BK era is criminal. Look at Dom McKinley. 5* and hasn’t developed a lick since his arrival on campus. Berry and Durham actually looked like they have regressed. And so on and so on.
Lanes hire was never a one year thing and yall know this. That’s why y’all are getting y’all’s shots in while you can. The money spent in the portal was to keep us competitive while he rebuilt the roster. The elite talent from the HS ranks that he’ll retain and develop will show up in a year or two.
Then the money spent in the portal will go to 15-20 select guys instead of 40. He’ll retain most of the players he wants and will get to cherry pick the players out of the portal.
At Ole Miss he did the same thing just with less elite HS talent to build a foundation around.

LSU had a lot of talent during the entire BK era. That was what felt criminal about how undeveloped the team began to be. But they had also recently won a NC under Ed O when BK was hired, and they continued to land recruits…my point is that Lane in 2026 did not inherit Mike Shula’s team like Nick Saban did in 2007.
