It was a MUCH bigger deal than Kiffin leaving the bowl game early.
If we're being honest, people want Kiffin to fail and will make a big deal out of anything they perceive as "bad" through confirmation bias.

Here's my point. You'll NEVER find a coach you like. And I get it - you tasted the best. Nick Saban at his very prime..
But there is no young Nick Saban coming through that door.
Do I want Lane Kiffin to understand that ? No. I hope this thing crashes and burns for both of you. But my hope does not matter. Lane Kiffin is not mature enough to manage LSU, and LSU is not mature enough to manage Lane Kiffin.
This will be a train wreck. Maybe cooler heads will prevail after the bodies are counted.

He's just picked on. Just like the kid that keeps getting his arse kicked at the bus stop, by every kid at the bus stop. Its not Lane's fault. Its all the other kids.

Well none of them showed up, gave an interview, and then left mid-game. Kiffin managed to draw attention to this all by himself.

Not really, I can see how his trolling and immaturity gets to people, thus making them dislike him.
It is interesting how people will blast him for doing the same things everyone else does though.
It's an interesting study in confirmation bias.
