20 wins, a dozen or so losses, .500 in league play or thereabouts
That’s a typical OM basketball season over the past decade or so. Yet Kermit is praised and wins honors? Please.

Ummm no. The only reason OM is tourney bound this year is because the SEC is more respected nationally.

Kermit Davis took a 12-20 team and in year 1 made them 20-12 and tournament bound. You're now telling me that Andy Kennedy would have done that with basically the same roster as his previous 12-20 team. Makes total sense.

In fact, it does make sense. Tyree and Davis matured and played better, smarter basketball. That’s the explanation for the turnaround. How much of their maturation is due to AK? How much due to Kermit?

I honestly wasn’t baiting anyone. I just think it’s funny that Kermit receives accolades for shooting par. AK put up these resumes routinely. He just ended up on the wrong side of the bubble because the conference’s reputation was so low.

Lmao. Kermit won 8 more games with essentially the same roster against a deeper league. If you can’t see how that’s worthy of praise, maybe basketball isn’t the sport for you

Isn’t AK the winningest coach in program history? The man knows how to coach basketball, and he won a ton of games in a college basketball garbage dump. Kermit has not revolutionized anything. He might be a fine coach, but winning at the rate AK maintained for years and years does not make him a better coach.

If you can’t understand why a coach is worthy of praise after taking a roster more or less unanimously picked last in the conference to the Big Dance, basketball is obviously not the sport for you. Or maybe sports in general aren’t the right hobby for someone of your analytical discretion

Kermit is a very good coach. Look at what he did here at MTSU. Once he found his niche he improved tremendously.
