It's week 2 and both teams played easy opponents to open the season and looked great respectively, we don't know jack about these teams for the long run in 2026 yet and I doubt the outcome of tomorrow's game will be a sufficient indicator it being so early
That said, in a situation where teams are still acclimating themselves to the consistent grind of a regular season schedule, conventional wisdom says take the talent combined with quality of head coach
Kentucky brought in an awful lot of talent via the portal and Stein has already energized the fanbase beyond what Stoops could ever hope to do but he's still a green new head coach; on the other hand, Alabama's still immensely talented, top 15 level - as long as the residual effects of the Saban era remain even to a small degree, they will never want - and they have a proven head coach in the business
Wisdom at this early point says take the team with the proven head coach, DeBoer has also already demonstrated he'll cover the spread if given the opportunity as well
Regardless, if teams aren't on their Ps and Qs, Kentucky very well could be a trap game for many an SEC team

Bama wins because they win the trenches, but I think Kentucky will score some points and keep the game interesting, at least prior to the 4th quarter when Bama wears them down.
But I think Stein is a good coach and will win some games at Kentucky. Might need another year or two to get his roster where he wants it.
