Scott Drew has won as many national championships as John Calipari.
Billy Gillispie and Eddy Sutton are a unique group. The only two coaches since 1933 to NOT win a National Title at Kentucky.
But if you want Calipari so bad ? Hire him. He likes money.

Drew's title is more recent and he's had more tourney success in the last 5 years.

I've seen Scott Drew actually make in-game adjustments. That looks refreshing.

I wanted Cal gone to get rid of all the BS “Cal-isms”, lack of actual Xs and Os coaching, complete indifference to the teaching of fundamentals, inability ty to defend the simplest of basketball actions (pick and roll), failure to do pregame pressers, dodging post game pressers, not owning his failures, …. I could go on, but the Hog faithful will learn these things on their own.
Scott Drew doesn’t necessarily make a splash for me, but TBH, I just want a guy who will coach basketball and not try to pretend to be some kind of guru motivator/ self improvement guy. And, to that end, Drew may be the perfect guy to replace Cal.
Cal’s ego has always been bigger than his actual accomplishments and he’s always placed an emphasis on the post season to explain inexplicable regular season losses. Well, after 4 years of having zero success in the post season, his outsized ego looks a whole lot like a pouty, petulant child.
He came in like Barnum and Bailey “Greatest Show on Earth”, and now he’s gone out like a clown at sideshow county fair. It’s always been Cal’s Circus, but nobody’s buying tickets anymore. That’s why he left UK.

quote:Drew would have the best resume of any coach UK has hired for basketball. Scott Drew would be a good hire. Cal was on the downslope. His resume is better than just about everyone’s in college basketball.
Can’t imagine UK fans being excited about this, tbh. The guy they just kicked out has a vastly superior resume, doesn’t he?

He makes 2.7 million at Baylor.
That’s not accurate its close to double that at 5.1. You’re relying on Wikipedia. Here is a better source:

Since Baylor is a private school, not sure if anyone knows the actual number unless it’s leaked by one side.

Cal can recruit, but his in game coaching is average to below average.

His in-game coaching? Break that down.

Scott Drew would be a great hire for Kentucky...really wish Tyson Chicken AD didn't bailout Calipari and allow Big Blue to get a coach made for modern college basketball.
Scott Drew played tennis at Butler.
He's a balls out competitor.

Just go watch some tape. Not hard to understand what Kentucky fans mean when they say that.

I don't have 'tape'. Tell us, Rafferty.

Not much in the tournament since he's only been to one final four in 20 years.
