He was. Then he was out for several months and had to have back surgery. He just lost a lot of ground in development when that happened.

He got injured last year and Johnson came in and got us to a bowl game. He kept the starting position this year and has done good.

He needs to show something soon because we have a JUCO QB coming in next year that's very talented, Barker could use every leg up in competition that he can get.
