I don’t know enough about seeds and the tournament but how in the hell is LSU and 8 but Arkansas is a 3, Florida is a 7 and Tennessee is a 5?
LSU final record was 18-9 3rd in the SEC. #15 in the RPI. Beat Arkansas 2 out of the 3 times. 7-3 in the last 10 and took top 10 Bama to the wire today.
Tennessee finished 18-8 4th in the SEC, got smoked by LSU. 6-4 in the final 10. #50 RPI
Florida final record was 14-9. 5-5 in their last 10. Finished 5th in the sec. #50 RPI.

Arkansas literally won 12 SEC games in a row and were predicted to be a 3 seed by 99% of outlets so idk what you’re talking about.

Arkansas 22-6(13-4)
12-6 record vs. Q1 & Q2 teams
NET 14
Predicted a 3 seed the last 2 weeks or so. Won last 12 regular season SEC games.
The others I cant really give any reason for. Florida should likely be an 8 or 9 and Tennessee I think benefits from how well they started the season, plus they have a NET rating in the top 15.
I think the hardest thing for people to understand is that Conference Tournaments literally do not matter for P5 schools that are not on the bubble. These teams and most seeds are set on Friday and it seems by years past, the committee only cares about higher seeds making the semi-finals of their conference tourney. Plus, the SEC tourney isnt even finished until Sunday.

I’m not saying Arkansas didn’t deserve the 3 seed. I’m saying if they get the 3, LSU shouldn’t be an 8. Should have been a 6.
They gave them a shitty matchup too.

If the tip goes in for LSU today and they finished 19-8 with a win over Bama they would have still been an 8?

RPI is not a selection criteria anymore. NET, KenPom, quadrant records and T Rank were used for seeding according to Barnhart.
