It's not.
You asked who he was talking about and then went to research SOS.
7 of the 12 had tougher schedules. 5 didn't.
12-7=5
See? Not difficult.
So we're comparing the almighty Alabama to Boise State now.

I'm not comparing Alabama to anyone.

Let's see what you switch to next.

Nope, even worse.
Your coach is the one doing it apparently.

7 of the 12 CFP teams had a higher SOS than Alabama.
bullshite. Alabama's SoS was #16 overall after week 13.
Playoff teams with a tougher schedule.
#5. Georgia
#15 Ohio St
Where did others rank after week 13?
#27 Penn St
#28 Tennessee
#35 Oregon
#39 Indiana
#40 Texas
#73 Notre Dame
#86 SMU
And then for others I didn't keep track of, so their schedule is actually over-ranked because it counts their playoff opponents.
#29 Clemson
#39 Boise St
#42 Arizona St

Perhaps you'd rather use strength of record.
But probably not.

then DeBoer crumbles what he built in a season.
In fairness to DeBoer, many of the problems the team had offensively this season were also present last season. The difference is that Saban was just that good of a coach that he was able to make enough adjustments to not drop but one regular-season game. But there were games that season that we just as easily (and probably should have) could have lost. But again, Saban was just that great of a coach.
Anyone we hired after Saban was going to be a drop-off. There was not one coach we could have hired that there wouldn't have been a drop off in some form. It's why Saban was the GOAT. Last year's team was one of Saban's best coaching jobs he did while at Alabama. If it had been anyone else we would have lost several more games.

Alabama was a 4th and 31 away from losing to a 6 win Auburn team that had just lost got blown out by New Mexico St(with the now Vandy QB) and missing the playoffs completely.
It would have been Saban's first loss to an unranked team since like 2007.
And then they beat Georgia the next week by the same score.
The pattern was already there. Talent and entitlement. Also only beat Arkansas(4-8) by 3, A&M(7-6) by 6, etc.

That loss to Oklahoma is why he didnt make the playoff.
Oklahoma wasn't a great team.
He sounds like Freeze here if we are being honest.
