Well, when your teams get the shite kicked out of them by Alabama later in the year, remember this: Talent does not disappear, focus does.
Saban disappeared and took all hope of Bama becoming dominant any time soon, if ever again, with him.

That loss was more than just lack of focus though. Vandy imposed their will on yalls defense and especially did it in crunch time. Bama got pushed around.

Having said that there are only a tiny handful who can build a successful program (I feel like you already have one) and ZERO who can meet the expectations of a fanbase spoiled by 17 seasons of Saban either dominating CFB or at least contending for it.
You are just wishcasting though.
If it gets ugly, then Alabama will hire someone else. ?
What you guys truly need is a couple of barely bowl eligible seasons to reset your expectations and help you appreciate the past two decades a little bit more.

Defense is definitely a concern, there is no doubt about that. That was somewhat expected heading into the season, but we aren't stopping the small stuff.
In the last 6 quarters of play, the offense has barely seen the field. The defense has been completely unable the majority of times to get a stop. Opposing teams are able to sustain long drives on series of shorter plays, tiring the defense and dominating the TOP.
That's why I think the lack of focus started at the top. I think the staff thought Vandy was going to be a week they could "work on things" and game planned around that rather than game planning for Vandy. When shite hit the fan, they had nothing to adjust to.
And the defense was getting burned by the option quite a bit as well.

FIFY

Now Bama fans are seeing what it's like, when everyone decides to buy players.
