Just a stats observation

Here is why I don't like to rely on stats very much when dealing with very good or very bad teams: they don't reflect real game time.
The truth is, Alabama has not had to play more than two or three quarters of football this year. A lot of offensive stats have been with 2nd-5th string players. Many of the points scored against Alabama have been late game junk while Bama was showing mercy on offense and using some back ups on defense.
You can say Alabama hasn't played anyone all you want to. The fact is, they have eviscerated everyone so badly and so early, that we haven't got a clue just how much damage they are truly capable of inflicting. All of the team records they are breaking is happening in a half to 3 quarters of football. If Saban was the kind of man to run up scores, it would be gruesome.

It is true that they have destroyed their competition and look very impressive. It is also true that they have played the bottom of the barrel pretty much every game minus Texas A&M. We will know shortly if they do that to actual competition.

So, two plays, one in the third quarter. And that's your proof of Bama throwing bombs late? One of those drives ended on downs without another pass attempt BTW.
How about the other seven games?
Louisville: Attempted one pass in the final 11:00 by the 3rd string QB. (Incomplete)
Ark State: Attempted one pass in the final 14:15 by the 3rd string QB. (Incomplete)
Ole Miss: Last pass was with 2:00 left in the 3rd by the 3rd string QB. Another pass play was attempted with 13:00 in the 4th by the 3rd string QB but he was sacked.
A&M: Last pass was with 13:00 in the game. Hurts completed it for 4 whole yards. Bama punted the very next play.
ULL: Last pass attempt was with 10:00 remaining by the 3rd string QB. (Incomplete)
Arkansas: Last pass attempt was with 13:43 remaining by Hurts. (Incomplete)
Tennessee: Last pass was complete by Hurts for 9 whole yards. Bama ran the ball 10 times after that.
