I guess this corndog forgot About Julio dragging his entire defensive unit 10 yards down the field last year. LSU has 2 recievers that are supposedly all world and stll can't move the football with any consistency.

I had been really baffled about Julio's nonexistent numbers this season. Until I saw this: LINK

Now I understand that GMac could probably throw the ball to him a lot more and JJ would make the play over his coverage just because he can. But, why throw to him and make him get the catch over the defender when someone else is wide open? The only real argument against JJ here is, "Why isn't he getting open?" Well, I'll have to admit that that is JJ's main weakness. He doesn't have elite speed or fantastic route running skills.

Yea,double teaming him and having the defense work overtime during the week of practice for him is a real bust. Yea,he should transfer down to Jax State. Maybe he can hook up with a CFL team one day.

At his weekly Press Conference Saban was asked about Julio.

Saban said Julio has an ungoing leg problem he got in our second game. He's slowly healing. Saban also stated since Julio gets double coverage this frees up our other receivers to burn the other team's D

When the double coverage comes off Julio and he's totally healthy then he's gonna burn somebody in some game.

Well you gotta admit, Julio only has 1 TD in the last 12-13 games. Course he's fragile and spends most of the time on the bench injured.

Come to think of it, he is a bust.

Maybe Saban is just taking a page from LSU's playbook and not showing his real offense yet. That's how you do it right?

The good news is that if his numbers stay low this season then Julio will be back next season. To bad for LSU that Patrick Peterson and Chad Jones will both be gone.

Julio will be back next season, period. He's only a true sophomore, so he's not eligible to declare for the draft.

His only "leg problem" was from the dinged up knee two weeks ago. Anyone who has watched the games and knows anything about football has seen that Julio is bracketed with coverage on top and underneath on pretty much every play. That limits the amount of throws you can deliver to him (which is the point of doing it). The solution for a smart quarterback is to throw it to somebody else, who should be open or covered by a linebacker (hopefully a mismatch). One glance at the Tide's passing numbers should tell you that we are still getting big dividends from Julio's presence on the field.

i think you do him a disservice to say "oh, he's injured all the time, THAT'S the only reason he's not an amalgam of Randy Moss and Chris Carter, with a little bit of Jerry Rice sprinkled on top"...

This has all been a clever plan to thwart Ole Miss and LSU. They think think double-teaming Julio is the answer. Please do that.

Put two guys on Julio all night and we'll pass for 300 yards.

What has Julio done, other than sit on the bench and whine the whole time?

How many games has he sat out because his "stomach hurts....waaaaa"
