Damn Pickens was a beast.

I think they should be super pumped about JT.

Also they have Jermaine Burton, Arik Gilbert and Darnell Washington. They have a damn strong run game and an OLine and Defense slammed full of 5*’s to go with a cakewalk schedule.

If they can beat Clemson there’s no reason they shouldn’t be undefeated going into Atlanta.

This feels like a “now or never” year for Kirby to me

With respect I will disagree with that now or never on Kirby. JMO but they will back in this same spot year after year.

I phrased that poorly. Not a make a break year for his job. I mean from a perspective standpoint. Is he ever going to be more loaded and the SEC be this vulnerable?

Florida is the only threat to them in the East. Bama is breaking in a young new QB. They’re schedule is soft.

They’re fricking loaded everywhere. This is a golden opportunity. Can Kirby lead them to the promise land?

Yes

This is a big year for "perspective".
Can the offense be explosive?
Can the defense get after the quarterback?
Kirby has won big games. But he has lost his share too. The "can kirby win the big game" among small minded football fans will be kicked around a ton with losses to clemson and/or bama.
For perception, this is a big year for the dawgs. No doubt.

Going into last season is the weakest I have seen the QB position at Ga in a long, long time. Not that way this year. I think Beck and the freshman bring a lot of talent to the team. I think something also very important is the fact they have had a season and a spring with the O coordinator.

Beck sounds like he is ready. It sounds great coming into this offseason. And even though i dont think he can handle big hits, stetson can win the big game if he can avoid contact. He was beating florida and bama prior to getting banged up each game (at 180 pounds, it doesnt take as much to effect his throwing motion).

Are Georgia fans concerned over the small sample size they have seen of JT against weaker SEC teams and a good goup of five team?

Sure. I think until we can get over the hump we will always have concerns. Doubts. You wonder if/what might go wrong.

I do believe Daniels has the ability to get the job done, but I always wonder if he is fully healthy...or fi he is okay, what kind of injury to another player might happen? Can we get the right players locked in at the OLine. The talent is there, but there is so much more to winning than just talent. Chemistry. Coaching. Desire. Focus. on and on.

Remember last preseason when they had a first round QB who was gonna win them a title? Or the year before that?

I don't remember us saying that. I remember the media saying that and us being very hopeful.

I also remember Florida fans thinking they were going to go to the payoffs until Florida (Mullen, the GOAT Game day coach)got so cocky they kept Pitts out of an easy win game against LSU.

Do you remember those?

Good times.

KMac picked up that blitz like a boss and let JT step up and just air it out. Great highlight play. Brooks Austin film room would point out how high JT brings his leg off the ground on that throw. If JT can get his mechanics right, he could be a hall of fame NFLer. All of the natural ability is there.

No he won’t. He has 2 #1 classes on this roster and that doesn’t include 5* Arik Gilbert and 5* JT Daniels to go along with pretty much every other SEC power reloading this year.

I bet you never have this good of an opportunity with that cake schedule over the next 10-15 years.

And LSU. It’s not can he win a big game. It’s can he win the whole damn thing. Richt won a ton of big games too

You decided to show the highlights from the one game where Georgia played against 45 scholarship players.

That is such a load of crap. Only 11 get on the field at a time, he was not just hitting those throws when the players were tired. He hit them all game long.

Like I said in the original post he's only played against weak competition.

Are you concerned that even you consider your team "weak competition"? That's what would concern me if I were you.

Agreed. This should be Georgia’s year. Even if y’all drop the first one to Clemson . Georgia should win every other regular season game by double digits and then it’s likely Bama in the sec title again.

Can Kirby finally beat Nick

If the recruiting has dropped off, i could see your point. We are still recruiting top 3 in the country and filling gaps with elite transfers. Why would anyone expect less talent going forward? Sounds like you are hoping for less talent.

And we schedule tougher than any SEC team. So there is no point in claiming that the schedule cant get easier because it can (remove clemson from upcoming schedules).

You dont have a point.

3 SEC games
@ Mizzou 59% 84th in passing D
@ Uof SC 62.5% 97th in passing D
M St 73.5%105th in passing D (unable to sub)

But small sample size.

USC 2018 59.5% completed 7 games below 63%. Started 11 games for 2,600 yards.

best game was a loss to Notre Dame (a loss)

The kid that replaced him in 2019 at USC had 3,600 yards and a 72% completion rate

The guy before him at USC had 4,100 yards and a 63% completion rate.

Same Coach, same core skill guys. Very different results with 1 of the 3 QBs. That would bother me and why I don’t see Daniels as great QB. What we know about him objectively is rather meh at best.

What "meh" stats do you predict against Clemson?
What is meh to you?

Look, it's smokey choosing to again leave out the Cincy game who was a top defensive team just to push his narrative.

187 passer rating is pretty damn good, and far more relevant than pac 12 football as a high school senior.

Your not consistently top 3. Top 5-10ish yes.

Ohio State, Bama, Clemson, LSU, Georgia and A&M are all recuiting extremely high now.

I’m hoping for Georgia to have less talent?

Son have you not watched us play y’all at all? Idgaf about Georgia.

You play in the east so no you don’t. One OOC game doesn’t equate to Bama, LSU, A&M and Auburn every year. And it’s about to get tougher. Especially if Alabama moves East.

Literally in this thread other UGA fans agree with me. Seems like your defensive because you know I have a point.

Let’s see if Georgia takes the next step or if you are who you’ve been for 4 decades
