Their returning team in terms of offensive and efficiency is top 5 in the SEC.
Yeah but there's a ton of turnover too not being accounted for here which makes basketball so incredibly difficult to project.
They were 5-13 last year, and if we want to blame that on Mark Smith being out, they were 1-6 in the SEC with him in the lineup. I dunno, just dont see them being better than maybe 8th or 9th in the conference this year.

Pre season projections in cbb mean nothing fukboi. There shouldn't even be a poll until the non conference schedule is played tbh.

Mizzou's best player had to sit out last year (transfer rules). Mizzou was really young last year which was part of the struggle.

Dru Smith isn't going to be some huge impact player though. And that's kind of the problem at Mizzou right now, your best player is Dru Smith?

He was a good starter at Evansville, not like you're getting Ja Morant here
The problem with players like that is you never know how they'll perform against major conference players now. In 2 years at Evansville he had 1 game against a power conference team (Louisville) his freshman year he went for 5 points on 1 of 5 from the floor. He played Wichita St twice his freshman year and only had notable game there.

I get it, you hate the idea of mizzou being much improved. But all signs are pointing to that.
Dru smith
Mark Smith
Watson
Jackson
Tilmon
Is a solid starting 5.

Looks like pretty much the same team that went 5-13 last year where you replace Geist (Was the best player on the court last year) with Dru.
Dont really see much of a change.

I feel pretty good about our roster talent wise and compatability wise with the new regime, but it's impossible to guess how everything will click.

Arkansas will finish in the top 25 next season.

Nope. Dru has the chance to be all conf defensive player next year, his defense is better than geist. His shooting is far superiors to geists, what we will have to wait and see is if Dru can be the leader Geist was.
Mark was putting up serious numbers, although he got injured and those numbers started to fall fast.
Watson was a true frosh who was bad the first half, and played amazing the 2nd half of the season. Would like to think that carries over, right? Considering he was a frosh and all
Tray jackson will be an improvement at forward. Puryear was such a disappointment last year. And I mean a huge disappointment.
Tilmon should benefit from having jackson, tilmon is very good, when he plays. All he needs to do is learn not to foul, thats not too difficult to learn.
And our bench is soooo much better and deeper than last year.
we'll win at least 5 more games next year

Tennessee was really hurt with Bone leaving. I think they expected him to come back, but he had a really good showing in pre-NBA draft workouts.
Bone and his camp made it well known he was leaving from about January on. Williams was always much more likely to return despite his draft stock being much higher. If Williams hadn’t been a guaranteed first he would have been back. He was telling people around SECT time that he was going to do what Schofield did last year but come back, but his stock exploded.

Williams in the first round? I'd be a little surprised by that, just seems like a typical hard working college player but a game that doesnt translate to the NBA well at all.

Absolutely he's going first round.

I see some mocks having him go late 1st, just personally dont see how his game really translate he's a sub 6'6 power forward that cant shoot really and is not much an athlete.

That's the biggest thing, nobody really thinks they will be in the bottom 4 of the league this year except maybe Vandy folks
But someone has to be down there.
Alabama, Arkansas and A&M seem like the biggest wildcards with new coaches on the block
