Who gives a zhit about the land sharks and their weak history. Still to this day not one trip to the SECCG. Laughable.

3 National Titles at Ole Miss.

Don't other schools have stronger claims to those titles?

I think those were awarded by Sardis Bait Shop Magazine years after the fact.

Wait, Ole Miss has never won an AP, Coaches Poll, BCS, or Playoff Series title?
No, but have you ever met Juice Golding?

We’ve forced them to relive the glory days of the 50’s and 60’s

Nice

what a joke

Minnesota lost to unranked Purdue and then lost the Rose Bowl which the polls ignored back then

Minnesota was riding the wave of beating #1 Iowa the week before they lost to Purdue

apparently Minnesota was the first two loss poll champ and this eventually led the AP to start factoring the bowl games into the final poll

I love Bama and hope we win the National Championship this year but it would kinda be cool if Ole Miss got on a run and won it!!

Bowl games were exhibition games. The AP and Coaches polls were awarded a month before the bowl games were even played. Minnesota went into that game as the national champions.

It wasn't uncommon for the NC to lose a bowl game.

And it was Alabama in 1964 that made them change the AP. And then Alabama in 1965 that made them change it back.

regardless, I see nothing wrong with Ole Miss claiming 59, 60 and 62.

It's a realistic claim considering it was an era when there was no way to really settle it on the field and there was considerable bias against Ole Miss for reasons that aren't hard to guess at.

It's revisionist history.

There is a reason Ole Miss didn't start claiming them until like 2010.

When is Alabama going to stop claiming 1941?

I will simply say it was an era when it was ludicrous to claim their was one, true unanimous champion.

Ages ago, I used to frequent the college football USENET newsgroup where they simply referred to the natty as the MNC - mythical national championship. Because it was indeed mythical and completely unofficial.

I'm not even sure the CFP is officially recognized by the NCAA today as the official natty though it is defacto just that. We are blessed to have an actual playoff now.

The bowl system outside the CFP should just be converted to a NIT style tourney. Maybe face off against the FCS champ.

Alabama shouldn't claim 1941 because it's not a legit claim.

It doesn't matter what people of today think, that's how they decide them back then. You don't go back rewriting history just because it makes you sad or you don't like how it's done. Alabama didn't win it in 1966 either, but I'm not going to change history and think it's ok to start claiming it.

The NCAA does not recognize any national championships, nor are they at all involved in the process. National Championships were awarded.
