Plus elite teams like UGA, Clemson, Bama, and Ohio state pluck all the talent from the state.
Even in state more students want to go to Miami (better location and program) and fsu (better program historically) than UF.
It’s why Mullen quit, and why Chip Kelly went to ucla instead of Florida. It’s also why Florida had to go into the bargin bin to hire billy Napier even though he begged both lsu and auburn for jobs and both schools didn’t even return his calls.

Freeze is a good coach but gets exposed every now and then
He got whooped by TCU in ATL, shark Fricker embarrassed him at the swamp in 2015, and he totally choked against Jimbo in 2016 in Orlando.
I like Mullen more, but freeze would be a great hire too, especially with NIL evening the field

Freeze has done that at schools who really haven't completed at the highest level in modern history. AU has.

Unlike lsu and Georgia they have built in instate come petition for recruits
Plus Florida recruits aren’t as loyal to the state as Louisiana recruits.
Florida will be lucky to have a top 15 class this year once the decomitts start rolling out after they lose 3 out of the next 4 (and maybe to Vandy)

Yet everyone railed on Mullen’s recruiting
