Put me down for GMac. And I won't even try to argue any of this "bigger, faster, better arm" shite.
I'd take GMac too. He's better. All I said is that Jefferson is a wasted talent.

I agree with this. Your entire WR corp is also being wasted

Y'all know my answer.
But, I must say, I feel sorry watching JJ during the LSU games - he always looks so sad.

Meh. He was a decent high school QB. Other than that... I don't think he will ever have what it takes to play SEC ball.

Dude, the size difference is insignificant.
JJ - 6-5, 224
GM - 6-3, 225
Speed:
I would imagine neither one is making it to the next level based on their speed.
Arm:
All the coaching in the world won't help you hit a receiver. It might help you read a defense, make your reads, etc. (which I'm sure Gonzales and Crowton are adept enough at doing), but if a guy is open, and you can't hit him, then that's on you.

I'll agree with that. Thankfully Shepard and Randle will get 2 years a piece under an offensive coach who is (hopefully) worth his paycheck.

I think he gets thrown under the bus WAY more than he should.

2 inch size difference is pretty large. Jefferson can support much more mass.

Advantage Jefferson. We aren't talking "the next level" here. We're talking about in college.

Uh, just like in baseball.. if a pitcher is inaccurate it's probably due to shitty mechanics (coaching). In part it's due to the mental aspect of the game.. but that can also be alleviated by good coaching.
Physically it isn't even close. Jefferson is the superior athlete. He's just not as good a QB as Gmac for a variety of reasons.

Me too. He doesn't look like he has fun out there.

Better arm? Get some coaching to pair up with that talent and you're looking at Jacory Harris
Jacory Harris?

If there's an advantage - it's marginal.

Wow. So is a player at all responsible for their actions?

Yes. It is. No. He's not.

I was Googling for a sad sideline picture - there are lots.
But, how have I never seen this one?
Cody was fixing to eat him up for dinner.

BMY,
How about less intelligent, undecisive, bad mechanics, and not a leader. Coaches can teach a player and coach them, they can't impart the ability to lead, read defenses quickly, and have the ability to make split second decisions.
This isn't even a debate. JJ is pathetic as a QB. Maybe coaching would help, but the guy has steadily gotten worse the last 2 years. The peak of his career was the Peach Bowl in 2008.

For the time being, anyway- we've got JJ....

GMAC easy, Jefferson has regressed

Just now arriving and have not read the thread, naturally
JJ is fast as shite. Watch him when he scrambles FOR REAL (not designed) his first step is WHOA- and personally I'm a quick guy so I know one when I see one. The problem is we run the option and he jogs half speed to lure in the secondary, always, very VERY successfully.
No, but for real, JJ is fast, but his legs are too long and his calfs are very weak. He's not a Vick/Shipley type with the advantageous leg size, so designing running plays for him at this point (along with WR-option routes) are a little optimistic. He's an EXCELLENT scrambling/roll-out QB.
If I were an NFL QB picking a scrambling QB, and all I had to chose from were GM and JJ...I'd pick JJ. SURPRISE!!
