Surely WVA is not that desperate.

Also, if Jimbo takes the job A&M can quit paying him, right? Or did they not include that clause in their contract?

Jimbo is the king of going 8-4 and occasionally winning 9 games. That is plenty for WV.

Nope. Jimbo gets paid either way.

If I got multi-milllions of dollars, I am relaxing somewhere. Why get back in the rat race of college NIL? The thirst for more can never be quenched for some people.

Pretty sure Jimbo gets paid regardless of his employment. They had to pay 20mil up front right after firing him and then he gets the rest in a yearly check until the contract would’ve ended. It’s such a bad contract lol.

For the record, Saban is 66/1 to get the WV job...

That was pure insanity on A&M's part.

Who does such a thing? It's just bad business.

That's a good point. The entire list is bogus!

Assuming he wouldn’t require a massive deal, it would be a solid hire for them. They’ve had issues recruiting for a long time and he could certainly help in that department.

Aggie Former AD Scott Woodward....the absolute king of bad contracts. Ask LSU about him and his football contracts.

I guess him taking the WV job is an ego thing? He's got enough money to hang it up.

You can only spend so many hours in the deer stand or the golf course before you start to get bored.

He’s been telling people for months that’s he not ready to hang it up and still thinks he can win somewhere. Ego is definitely a factor with these coaches….nobody will remember him as a national championship winning coach, instead he is the guy who took A&M for a $100 million dollar ride, he doesn’t want to go out like that.

Assuming WVU doesn't have to pay a ton for him, I think that's a good fit.

8-4 at WVU makes you an all-timer.

I'm not saying he goes for the job but it is his alma mater. On top of that he strikes me as the kind of guy who is so thin skinned he'll have to do something to try to prove to everyone he's not that bad of a coach. However, he is a bad coach.

Yep, he doesn't need the money, so he would be doing this for his love of wvu.
shoot, if i was in shoes i'd take the UT job for low dollars and just funnel that money to assistant coaches / NIL.
cement both his and the schools legacy
