He recruited talent, harnessed it, and did his best to keep it under control enough to win a title and get him drafted in the first. Don’t think many could have done better.

He apparently left an empty one at FSU as well.

I mean I didn’t have some wellers earlier but I have a headache so I switched to something lighter.

Then that begs the question of why you fired the guy who assembled those players?

Because he couldn’t win at a high enough level. Look how he wasted Tannehill.

Look up what happened to A&M in 2011

Began the year ranked 8th

Blew a 20-3 halftime lead and lost
Blew a 35-17 halftime lead and lost
Blew a 28-17 4th quarter lead and lost in OT
Blew a 24-14 lead with 2 minutes left and lost in 4 OT
Blew a 16-7 halftime lead and a 25-24 lead with 1 minute left and lost

Coach and AD publicly criticized the move to the SEC.

They had a first rounder last year and a second rounder this year. I don’t think anyone will argue with me when I say Willie is an absolute terrible couch and did a terrible job.

10+ wins and playing for season at the end of the season.

Not gonna happen. The CFB gods will make sure you lose at least 2 out of Fresno State, Colorado, USC, and both Mississippi schools [plus the normal losses to Auburn, Bama, and LSU] since it finally looked like a season you should handle. Tough break

Sounds like y’all have an excuse for everything. Maybe it’s not coaching that’s keeping A&M from winning.

An excuse? He failed, we fired him and made another hire.

Vegas has us at 9.5. Is 10 a reach?

Well it sounds like it’s either the coach can recruit but can’t coach or vice versa. There’s always an excuse why A&M isn’t winning and then a promise the next guy is going to change that.

Mullin left MSU the same year Jimbo left FSU, look at what MSU did this year relative to FSU. They had 3 picks in the 2nd/3rd round. They had 3 first rounders last year and 2 other NFL draft picks. So in the last 2 drafts, this one not yet complete, that is 8 NFL draft picks. FSU had 2 last year and only 1 so far this year.
Moorehead was fired after 2 seasons. So what that tells me is that Jimbo left FSU and empty cupboard. MSU has out produced FSU the last 2 drafts, stop and think about that.

We will see.

What that tells you if that Moorhead was so bad he couldn’t stay mediocre with a talented MSU team. Mullen was brilliant at finding under the radar and risk guys and developing them. It also tells you that was bad as Moorhead was he couldn’t hold a candle to Willie’s crap.

I thought Sumlin did well for an aggie coach, historically.

Who's next after this guy?

I think the word you are looking for is reason. There is a reason for almost everything. If team A doesn’t win then review what happened and suggest a reason. Try to correct with the next move. If team B wins you look for that same reason and try to co to us to replicate it.

He went undefeated vs Arky so that was nice. But once the golden goose was gone things came crashing down.
