And, you can bet your farm that he led the charge to fire... oh, I mean let Tommy "resign" from AU, while walking away from the program with +$4mm big one's.

Who the hell pays a coach over $4mm for the coach to voluntarily resign?

Damn, I wish my boss would pay my arse that kind of money to leave.

You're probably right Matt. We're good as long as ESPN, HBO, USAToday, SportingNews, NYTimes, ATLJournal, Fortune, CBS, CNN, and every other fricking major media outlet in the US hasn't reported on it ad nauseum. As long as the shite stays local, we're good.

CK may be next

CK's recruitment was clean on both sides in relation to the NCAA. It was negative on one side, and defensive on another side, but it was not illegal.

CK would be a Tiger right now (yuck) if AU's staff had spent more time recruiting the parents. The AU staff would have discovered concerns the Koundjio's have about certain things. CK knows, Arie knows, Saban knows, and Gene Chizik knows, that the parents didn't care for Taylor being on that staff.

Okay, one more time, nothing J Lee posted had anything concrete except that a "supporter" took Calloway somewhere. He's just playing the Scott Moore game.

quote:

* A supporter of Alabama took Calloway to Tuscaloosa multiple times including the weekend prior to national signing day.

* The supporter allegedly then drove Calloway out of state and kept him there until he returned to his hometown of Russellville, Alabama on signing day.

* Before Calloway’s final trip to Tuscaloosa pre-signing day, the Bama supporter allegedly made cash payments to Harland “Peaches” Winston who is Calloway’s adoptive father.

* Winston supposedly received $2,500 from the Bama fan on at least one occasion.

* Supposedly, Winston also received aid in catching up on his home mortgage.

* The fan also allegedly provided Calloway with a new car that the player drove to school. Supposedly enough questions were asked about the car that it was returned on the same day.

* Allegedly, the car was purchased by the Bama supporter from a dealership in Muscle Shoals owned by yet another Alabama supporter.

* Supposedly, the supporter told Calloway that he would receive $1,200 per month while playing at Alabama.

JMO - Cecil started the Cam crap

Everyone likes the street agents if they can use them to reach recruits in another state... everyone gets pretty upset if another team uses street agents to recruit in their state

This. I don't believe Cyrus' recruitment was dirty on either side. Auburn just entered the race too late IMO

Really? Pat Dye was personally involved in hiring Gene Chizik? Where did you read that?

Seriously? Tommy Tuberville refused to let that old goat near his program.

I'm not doubting these claims, but I hear them all the time from Bama fans and I have never seen anything to back them up.

IIRC, The Koundjio's weren't the only parents/grandparents that didn't like Troopah's recruiting tactics.

It was common knowledge around this area that Dye did not feel welcome at the football complex while Tommy Tuberville was the coach at AU. Dye was a long time buisness relation with Lowder. If I'm not mistaken Dye invested over $750,000 into Lowder's bank, and may have even held a seat on Colonial's board. Lowder was behind JetGate, and Dye while not directly named in that coup to oust Tubs was a big part of the scheme to get Petrino to AU.

Tubs knew, as well as anybody else that Dye was a puppet to Lowder for a long time. Dye's schinanigans landed AU on probation, and Tubs wanted no part of the old drunk.

Honestly I've never in my life heard of a school that would name their field, let alone give an office to a former Coach that brought probation to the campus.

Cecil and Kenny Rogers started the Cam crap. They appear to have had a prior relationship before Cam's recruitment began.

Since Dye is corrupt and Tuberville kept him away, does this mean Tuberville ran a clean program? If so, doesn't this mean HBO Four stories are bogus because Tuberville was the coach then and he kept the corrupt Dye away from the program?

Agree

Sounds like they had been friends for better than a year before Cecil started shopping Cam at different schools

If (augrad00) means you graduated from AU in 2000, then you are too young to know just how crooked and corrupt the men that run your program really are.

I hated Tubs, but I always thought he ran a clean program while he was at Auburn. I always thought that Gene Chizik ran a clean program too. Then the HBO Fab Four came out with their expose last week. Now I think Auburn must employ the longest streak of cheaters in history. Because Tubs hired Gene, and the FabFour payouts happened during Gene & Tommy's tenure.

No guesswork required. Dye was in fact on Colonial's board of directors.

We should believe you over Pat Dye about how Pat Dye was treated? Forgive me, but that is completely crazy.

Not involved in the hiring, but was the one coach he recommended to Jacobs.

Didn't read it anywhere. Was told that by a big Auburn booster. He could have been mistaken on his info, but i tend to believe him.

I feel bad for all of the kids on Alabama's football team that will have to break up and go to other schools because guys like Calloway took money.

Shameful
