He adds more value at a nominal position than he does on an every down position.
Im sure he does. Thats why they moved him. Couldn't get enough value from him at the more important position.

so he moved because he wasn't good enough to play DL or because he was the best DL suited to play FB, which was a thin position at LSU at the time?

Who are you gonna start him over? Anthony Johnson? Ego Ferguson Jr? Think about it. He starts on offense. You know good and well miles values a smash mouth running game.

fullback J.C. Copeland is from LaGrange,
Another great scouting job by Chizik and company. Copeland was a 4star DE, IIRC.

Oh? You know how these coaches operate I see. You know exactly how they feel about personnel decisions.
It must be cool to be you. You must be an assistant coach.

Copeland's just lucky to be playing SEC ball... no way he would've made it as a DE or DT in this league, IMO
Well, guess we know to avoid your talent evaluations in the future.

you guys are having a strange argument.
However, a Copeland with a chip on his shoulder is probably worth a few hurt linebackers, one hurt safety and three personal foul penalties.

Its not really an argument. We both agree.

So since we didn't want him at DE, a position he doesn't play anymore, he mad?
Posted on 9/26/13 at 10:52 am to WillHarsha
Wanna make a sig line bet? JC Copeland drafts higher this year than anyone off the DL from auburn.
Sounds fair right? Expert draft shark assistant coach alter guy.

Anyone who thinks fullback is a nominal position at LSU over the past half-decade knows nothing about college football.

He wasnt good enough to play DL for LSU, so yall found a position to utilize him.

IIRC he was asked early on in his recruitment if he wanted to play fullback and he said yes. So your argument has no basis what so ever because he knew he was playing fullback before getting on campus
