People keep saying this, as if unemployment is some road to easy street, but it pays less than half what you were earning before losing your job. I very much doubt that many people are doing this.
What? Get paid for not working at all? I personally know of a couple of people that take their unemployment (and one or two that take disability) then do side jobs without reporting it.
I know of one guy that made $100,000 a year, got laid off and would sabotage any job interviews if he was offered less than $100,000. he had enough in investments and savings he lived off of that. (I will admit this was many years ago(30+), and i am not sure if he ever rejoined the work force)
But, again...we are talking about a guy with $49 million on the line for not working. Not somebody making minimum wage.

Franklin has roots in the DelMarVa area so it made perfect sense for him to take the job
Blacksburg is a world away from the Delmarva peninsula. This would be like saying someone had ties to Savannah so it makes sense they’d take a job in Knoxville.

Good hire IMHO. They avoid the circus and get a guy that obviously is motivated to do well and now has real skin in the game. Honestly I like Franklin. I hate PSU so glad he is out of there

Always had a soft spot for Virginia Tech. Hoping he does well there
