Fromm is the total package. But I've never seen a college kid throw a prettier ball than Eason. Kid has tremendous arm talent.

5* quarterbacks tend to not buy into the whole "there's no I in team" concepts very much. If they're passed over, they're good as gone. Humility is not a strong characteristic for them. We should know....we lost 2 in one year basically because they couldn't stand each other.

This is what a lot of people don't understand about the QB position. The QB essentially carries the energy of your whole offense. It's not just about experience or seniority, it's about feel

90% of the balls he throws are wobbly as frick. You must just see the highlights.

Eason was awarded the job after Spring. Understandable when you have a returning starter and a true freshman. There is not and never has been a freshman QB who would have come out of this past Spring as the anointed starter over Eason.
People keep referring to the argument that he "won" the job when in fact it wasn't even up for debate. All Eason had to do to be named starter was to show up to practice everyday and not get in the type of situation with the law akin to Mettenberger. Fromm's only shot at being named starter after spring was if Eason personally self destructed on a personal level and was kicked off the team. Even had he been injured ion day one of Spring he would have remained listed as starter contingent on a return to health.

He's not very mobile, so he wouldn't really be a fit for Auburn unless Gus leaves.

I don't think he rides the pine. I think he does not start, but I would strongly believe that he gets a series here and there and gets every opportunity to win the job during the season because he is so different in mobility than Fromm or Eason.

I have been a huge Jacob Eason supporter. His freshman season was superior to Matt Stafford's. However, the very second Fromm took the field, the energy shifted. It's as clear as crystal to me. Fromm is the guy.
Pretty much this. Eason has NFL size and a strong arm but he doesn't seem have the mental aspects required to play QB at a high level; Fromm does. A significant part of playing QB is also about having the dynamic personality of a leader that inspires confidence in your teammates. You know your offense and the opposing defense so well that you are able to quickly survey the field and make adjustments as needed. In other words a successful QB works hard to prepare for the upcoming game but also has both the unique natural mental and physical talent needed to think quickly and execute accurately.

I agree Fromm has “it”. And like him better as the starter. But people remember Eason from last year. It’s a lot easier to look good and appear to have “it” with this years Georgia team. Would be interesting to see how much better Eason could look with the present team.

exactly, people are so damn short sighted. Eason as a TFr had a garbage OL, banged up chubb, only 1 reliable receiver, a very poor defense, woeful speical teams, and a first year brand new coaching staff.
Fromm as a TFr has a very good OL, fully healthy chubb (and added deandre swift to the rotation), 2 reliable go-to receivers, an elite defense, outstanding special teams, and a supporting cast that knows the system now being that it's year 2.
Look at Fromm's stats. We aren't winning games because of fromm. Put a fully healthy sophomore eason on this team and the results would likely be the same.

The real question is whether its Fromm or Fields next year
