I think I would keep it simple and ask if he arranged payment outside of the NCAA permissible benefits to any current LSU basketball player to attend LSU.

He could still say no to this. Wade didn't personally make any offer or payment to any player directly. That's why these things are so hard to prove.
Eta: I mean the payments themselves are hard to prove.

Wade didn't personally make an offer to Smart. That's what the runners and middle guys like Dawkins are for. If someone as Will Wade "did you make an offer" he can say no because he isn't the one that made the offer to anyone.
These runners work with many different coaches and that's why this thing is going to affect so many schools. Christian Dawkins wasn't just working with one or two coaches. This thing may involve as many as 40 or 50 schools from what The guys on the radio here are saying.

Per the comment asking if someone thought Wade was dumb enough to hand a bag of money to Smart- I say probably not but given Wade’s stupidity on the phone, it wouldn’t be the most shocking thing I’ve ever heard or even heard the past week.
