AU, SC and UT are the major back up schools for Georgia rejects. The standards are extremely high at UGA and its common for top students to fail to get in. Hope Scholarships and the schools commitment to the highest quality education have made UGA a highly coveted university. UGA can now be very selective. Only the brightest and best make it nowadays.

GSU, GCSU, KSU plus many other state schools are more of back up than any of those listed in the same aspect.

So you’re admitting the main reason good students pick Georgia is that your state throws money at them?

Anybody school that does that can get their ACT scores artificially high. It doesn’t say anything about the quality of education itself.

Not sure about the other two, but out-of-state tuition at Auburn is way too high to make it a "back-up" school for Georgia students. Again, almost all of the GA high school students I know who have attended Auburn were legacies.

As NYC stated, the other schools in Georgia are the backup schools for the most part and ironically the spawning ground for the most obnoxious UGA fans.

Well when you live in a perpetual state of delusion and truly believe that Athens is the greatest city in the country, UGA is a perennial football powerhouse, and that Kirby Smart is the second coming of Nick Saban I'm sure it isn't all that bad until UGA inevitably chokes every year. Ignorance is bliss

Unfortunately the kids who end up at the Georgia universities you mentioned were never serious candidates for Georgia. It is widely acknowledged in this state that only the kids with the best grades, extremely high entrance test scores and a resume of multiple activities ranging from clubs, sports and community service are even considered.
UGA has a student body full of kids from N Atlanta private schools. It may not be fair and many in the state believe that to be the case, but Georgia students are the kids who have had the benefit of the best educations.

What would any WF fan know about football powerhouses?

Many of the Auburn students that come from GA are the same...

Hence why they are back up schools

It's gonna surprise you, GlossuRabban, but all Georgia people aren't poor. Many easily manage out of state tuitions

I'm sure many N Atlanta students end up at AU and other schools. No one said they weren't smart or wealthy enough to pay out of state tuition. They just weren't smart or well rounded enough to get into UGA

and the delusion progresses

But I guess the same could be said of UGA alums, not smart enough or well rounded to get into tech. Must suck being the backup school in your own state...

I believe you meant to say UNG, GCSU, Southern, or Lanier Tech.

True, but that is why 95% of UGA fans have zero connection to the school

Hope Scholarships and the schools commitment to the highest quality education have made UGA a highly coveted university.

Every public university in Georgia accepts both HOPE and Zell Miller, which have zero to do with quality or desirability.

UGA can now be very selective. Only the brightest and best make it nowadays

UGA is selective not because of the quality of education, but rather the quantity of applicants. Practically every student in the state of Georgia applies along with a number of out of state students.

It's obvious you know little about Hope scholarships. It's true that all Ga universities get students thru these scholarships but those students have qualifying grades. Because of Hope and a strong emphasis on providing the highest quality education UGA can pick and choose. Seems every kid in Ga wants to go to UGA and there are a lot of applications. But only the top students make it today.
Don't know where you are getting this 95 per cent crap but Georgia has hundreds of thousands of alumni. And to attract millions more who were never lucky enough to attend is a wonderful thing.
