Imagine leaving being rich in Seattle in a tax free state where you just took the team to an NC to go follow-up the greatest coach of all time at the school with the highest standards in the toughest conference and pay a 5% tax for the privilege of doing it in the Yellowhammer State in the bargain.

Plus compare dealing with Washy fans versus Bama fans.

Lol 7 million a year for a coach that hasn't run a big time program yet?

Saban was making 11 on pace to make 13 in a few years iirc. A 3 mil boost plus all of Gumps resources is pretty dumb to turn down.

Harsin had a mediocre record at Boise St. Deboer is a proven winner everywhere

Neither had Saban when LSU hired him. Last three stops before Baton Rouge: Toledo, Cleveland Browns and Michigan State.

That’s true, but he was already showing signs of being an elite recruiter at MSU, beating out Michigan for some guys. If there is one knock on DeBoer right now it that he hasn’t proven much there yet. That doesn’t mean he can’t step up at Bama, but it’s definitely a question mark.

cost of living in Seattle is 35-40% higher than Tuscaloosa right. He will feel like he’s a Sheik down there.
