Still lost. At home. Against a team Ole Miss beat the week before.

Still a loss. There’s no such thing as a “good looking loss”. It’s a made up metric used by message board dumbasses.

Is it that close win over Memphis or edging out Florida

Maybe that victory over MTSU they were able to hold on to.

Didn’t Mizzou need a 61 yard kick to beat Kansas state?

This is an argument for Tulane being a good win. I'm not sure that's the argument you were attempting, but it's the one you made.

Stating that Ole Miss' win over Tulane came without Pratt (Tulane's starting QB) demonstrates that Ole Miss' win should not be overstated.

Ole Miss went 10-2 against teams that were a combined 82-50.
Missouri went 10-2 against teams that were a combined 80-51.

Ole Miss' losses were against Alabama and Georgia, the two teams playing for the SEC Championship. Missouri lost to Georgia and LSU. Ole Miss has a win over LSU.

Ole Miss has a road win over a NY6 team. Missouri had nailbiters against Middle Tennessee and Florida.

This year it's for a better bowl. Next year this discussion is for a playoff bid. Maybe the answer is Mizzou and Ole Miss over Penn State, but I doubt that happens. If only one of the two from the SEC gets the bid, it should be Ole Miss.

Um, ok...those things might matter if ole miss/penn state didn't also have losses. ole miss also has 2 losses (including a thorough beatdownn in athens 1 week after missouri played in athens) and, as per usual, penn state has beat up on a weka league and lost to the only 2 good opponents they played.

We all know this, but the problem is that the eye test is even a thing in the first place. I'm not saying in the current state of things that Missouri shouldn't be ahead of us, but in a perfect world, wins and losses would be the only factors....then go down the line of tie-breaking metrics be it common opponents/margin of victory or loss. The playoff committee needs to eliminate the eye test.

Eye test = Mizzou is better (My money is on them if we play tomorrow)

Resume = Ole Miss is better (Better wins and better losses)

The eye test is a rabbit hole. We might as well start factoring in weather, moon phase, average player height, game hype, stadium capacity, injuries, morale, etc.

The fact is, the eye test is very much in play and is part of the game so if Mizzou gets a NY6, they deserve it.

A win @Tulane with their starting QB out is really impressive. Tulane hung around all game with their second string QB playing poorly but still an amazing win for an SEC program. Honestly Ole Miss should be in the CFP this year with such an incredible win

They pass the eye test right now. Mizzou looks great and Ole Miss has fizzled the last few games

The bigger question is why are Ole Miss fans on this board so obsessed with another teams 10-2 record that they can't enjoy their own teams success.

It seems like in some insecure thinking their team is being dissed.

So you've chosen the "Tulane isn't very good" path. I'm very interested in how you'll try to tell me a win over LSU at home shouldn't be overstated, but a 10 point loss to LSU is no big deal because they had that sick K State win or the close Georgia loss!

No it is a simple fact that we are missing out on the NY6 over an eye test moral victory. It is bullshite.

Thought the next ranking was Tuesday. So you might leap them (duobtful).

It may also be part of the eye test from the last few weeks.

Louisville will drop behind Ole Miss in this week's poll. So long as Iowa, Okie State, or Louisville do not win their CCGs, Ole Miss has a shot to get in at 11th with G5's highest seed closing out the field, no?

But, to your assertion, I think Mizzou is playing better football right now than PSU or Ole Miss. For all of their criteria, the eye test is always a major factor. See Oregon over UTx despite a significant SoS gap.

I also think PSU is the least deserving of the 3. The BIG is simply not impressive this year, and PSU has looked simply bad against every good team they've played.

Assuming FSU makes the CFP, the next highest ACC team would get the Orange Bowl.

Tulane is a good team, when it has its star quarterback.

Ole Miss had 2 starting O lineman out against UGA. Why isn't that factored in?
