Will do. I can see mizzoo with an 8 game losing streak - even with that "super tough" schedule. UK will not be a gimme game, neither will SC, UF, GA, okay I'll give you vandy - but I'll take MS, BYU, UT and Arky to take care of business against your team.

I am pretty fair and honest when it comes to my school, but Mizzou isn't going on no 8 game losing streak, mark it down. You obviously have the Rant mentality towards Mizzou before we joined the SEC, and that's cool, but also delusional.

One thing we do agree on is there is NO gimmie games in the SEC. Some of you don't respect our program and dismiss us, not a prob. Really makes no difference to us anymore, we have proven we can compete in the best college football conference, whether you believe the East is down or not. As a whole, we love it here and landed in the best possible spot we could ever dream of.

i was delusional in the thought that I could never see UT suck as bad as they have for the past 10 years. I also thought I would never see such a horrible UF team - and they still managed to beat UT. Don't kid yourself and think that mizzoo cant lose 8 games this year. You lost a lot of talent, it really sucks for Brantley, and you have a new D coordinator. Back to the topic at hand - UK - and they will surprise more than a few this year. Their O backfield is no joke and have one damn good receiver. Their D will take a step back with Dupree gone, but Stamps handles his own with anybody in the SEC.

For what it's worth, the coaches have said the defense is significantly better despite Dupree being gone. Kentucky is stacked with different blitz packages to make up for the loss of Dupree and Smith, moved to a 3-4, whereas they were a 4-3 last season (scheme really changes between the 2 packages, you would be surprised).

Also, as good of a pass rusher that Dupree was, he was somewhat of a liability against the run. All of the coaches seem to be pleased though (and this is the first time that Stoops has been openly optimistic to the media in his time at UK, for obvious reasons). Dawson seems adamant that our offense is more talented than the one he coached at West Virginia (although admitting that the talent is youthful, and they don't have a proven commodity like Kevin White).

I'm happy with the direction that the team is going though, and as far as the defense goes, I would say that we're a year away from being where we need to be, but who knows, we'll have 10 upperclassmen starting, unless the two freshmen CB's pass up the two senior CB's, like all reports are beginnign to indicate. I would also put our Safety corps against any in the SEC, outside of LSU. A lot of talented players there.

Like I said, mark it down, hell bookmark it, and let's see who is right once the season progresses. I do agree this years Mizzou team doesn't look as strong on paper, and I don't pick us to win the East again, but if anything Pinkel has done since coming to the SEC is prove the critics wrong. Pinkel is the Bill Snyder version in the SEC.

As far as our new D coordinator, it should be noted that he has proven himself to be a good coach. He is also a past Mizzou player and knows the program and how Pinkel runs it. Doesn't equate to success, but it sure doesn't hurt either.

I think 6-6 is about a lock and 8-4 is attainable. I'd count them as an east sleeper.

I think they will be a scrappy bunch and they could beat us up there...which would be the fire that lights us up for the rest of the season.

They gonna snag someone...AU, UF, UT.

If they played in the ACC or Big Ten I think they would have a legit shot at 8-9 wins. But no matter how good they get in the SEC, there will be 8-9 teams better than them.

that is totally ridiculous

1st - the ACC looks pretty damned strong this year

2nd, if MS State was able to step up and do it, KY certainly can

Is UK a sleeper this fall?

yes - I have been predicting 7 to as many as 10 wins all offseason

10 wins would take a lot of things going their way & is very unlikely, but not as far out of reach as some think

I really think 8-4 is what we are going to see

I feel this as well as it would return to their former MO. What is making me think they nail more than 1 tho is folks from the outside saying they look big like other SEC schools. Not sure I remember folks saying that since maybe Fran was coach.

Just don't know and will only really see when the season progresses but could they be 4-1 or 5-0 heading into the Auburn game? I think they have a shot.

They will upset at least one team this year. Either Tennessee or Florida imo

You are right about LSU's secondary. They are unbelievable. Jamal Adams is the best safety in the country.

Results on the field are what you get attention, will see if UK can step up this year. Starting 5-1 last year, then losing 6 in a row was awful on this team. Hope they are using it as motivation for this year. A good start is essential.

I thought they were among the most impressive SEC teams last year the first 2 weeks of the year. The SEC schedule eventually wore them down, but they showed their potential in their 1st two games and were very very impressive.
