It's very strange indeed. They keep melting, but the response is "well look at that LSU melt against Troy". Classic case of denial. Very weird that they keep pointing to LSU when we don't play them until next year.

Rare photo of deeprig, reciting disjointed words about Auburn and the Outback Bowl in every thread

Not sure why they are taking it out on LSU fans for some reason

Because UGA doesn't play LSU this season. There is less risk in talking shite to LSU fans.

Like losing to Troy? Or like us losing to Vandy last year... or to Tech? I'm not calling out Troy because we've never had a bad loss... but losing to a top 10 team that most people predicted we'd lose to before the season began is simply not the same.

We had opportunities that we missed, compounded it with mistakes, and Auburn dialed up literally perfect plays on several occasions. I don't think there are a lot of Auburn posters who believe they win that game by 23 on average if we played it multiple times... it snowballed. Do they likely win it? Absolutely. They owned the LOS on both sides of the ball and we had no plan B for what happens if we can't run... coaches will have some drawing boards to burn and rebuild... clearly the game plan going in was insufficient. But it's still a top 10 team with one loss to last year's national champion and an inexplicable loss to LSU by not scoring in the second half...

Was this thread started by an LSU fan? Yes
Have other threads been started by LSU fans? Yes

It's almost like there is some kind of common thread... just can't wrap my head around why LSU would come up in a thread started by an LSU fan about "the melt of the year" when LSU had a really big melt... I mean... it's just so fricking weird.

Really, because every thread about this game UGA fans have pointed to LSU for their responses. It has not been the other way around. Weird man just weird. Oh well next year we'll take care of this problem when LSU puts the beat down on the puppies.

Yeah, just like that. It's not that y'all lost, it's how bad y'all got blown out. I personally think us getting routed by State is worse than the fluke Troy loss. The half time FG shouldn't have counted.

I can't speak for anyone else... My response was exclusively related to this thread since that's where the comment was made...

Excited for the trip. I hate the infrequency of our road trips to some of the great destinations in the SEC west. I've got nothing against most LSU fans. You've got some shitty posters on these boards, but so does every school.

My melt on the drive from Baton Rouge to NOLA was 10 times the combined melt of the leg humpers this week.

If they make it to Atlanta and the game plays out the exact same way, I'd probably look back at this game as a bigger deal/indicator of trouble. Otherwise, I look at the first half and see a game that was actually fine up until some very costly mistakes...

Leaping penalty that extended the drive and gave them a TD to take a 9 point lead with possession starting second half...

Force a defensive stop to start second half only to then muff the punt give them a short field and go down 16. Call aggressive blitzes to try and shift momentum and get burned multiple times. That's how the game went from manageable to unmanageable quickly... At that point, Auburn knew they didn't have much to worry about because their DL was doing whatever they wanted and they were free to pin their ears back more and go after Fromm. As I said earlier... it was a compounding of errors that led to the end result. They were easily the better team that night, but I don't think the margin of difference is all that telling.

My primary concern coming out of the game has less to do with how much we lost by and more to do with how underprepared we seemed. We seemingly had no plan B. One would hope that by the time Atlanta rolls around, we've got plans B, C, D, etc figured out because heading into a matchup with Bama or Auburn there, the gameplan will be pretty clear on how they likely will approach us.

Nah I started the response threads because of magildachunk. He is constantly starting threads about Georgia so I figured I would return the favor. It is funny LSU posters will call out the Georgia posters but it is okay for one of their own they say nothing too. Own it LSU fans as long as magildachunk keeps posting multiple threads there will be multiple threads started about Troy and LSU

The response threads aren't about Auburn I've posted multiple times in other threads that we got our arse whipped. That day Auburn was the better team. I don't think there was anything we could have done that day to change that. Yes if we don't commit multiple personal foul penalties and drop a touchdown pass and muff a punt the score might have been a little closer. Still no chance we were going to win that game.

Again it isn't multiple Georgia posters it is one yours truly and as long as magildachunk continues I will reply.

Outside of UGA, I'm a Chicago sports fan.

In the last 10 years, I've seen Chicago win 4 championships: cubs 1x, blackhawks 3x. Each of those championship teams had multiple ugly blowout losses - even in the playoffs!

Now, I'm not saying Georgia is a championship team, but good teams lose games. Good teams even get blown out. It happens. The tough thing about CFB is that you don't get a lot of games / chances.

There's a lot of luck involved, too. In 2012, for example, the night Bama lost to A&M, Oregon lost to Stanford on a last-second field goal. Had that not happened, it would've been Oregon vs ND for the championship. That was something totally out of Bama's control - things just broke their way.

CFB is a very unforgiving sport - I've found it's best not to be a dick about it.

THIS is the bigger issue, if no adjustments were made at all if it comes to it, all of the good will Kirby built up is gone that quickly.

I think the Gumps melt from January this year is still melt of the calendar year.

This football year, I think the melt of the year goes to Florida fans after the Petty Massacre on October 7.
