Is this Malzahn's last year at Auburn?

We always recruit well. But we always seem to lose 5 or so games that we shouldn't.

That is not indicative of a good coach.

I liked Malzahn's methods at first, but we could do better.

He seems lost sometimes.

That is not great coaching.

I think he needs more time. Give him ten more years just to be sure.

The whole 3-Quarterback system in sporadic moments all year has been utterly confusing at times.

Why do that at all?

It never worked.

Doubt it. Getting Stidham really boosted Auburn's chances of vast improvement for next season. Defense will be good, offense returns almost everyone, special teams is great.

If Gus finds a way to frick it up next year, he needs to take the Arkansas job when it opens up next year

Arky fans are obsessed over him.

I still don't understand why.

i think the question is, when sumlin and jones get ousted, will that increase/decrease pressure on auburn to join the market?

12-2 in his first year at Auburn, SEC champs, seconds away from being national champs. 23-16 since that time.

I thought that Texas A&M had already solved its coaching fiasco.

You guys certainly have the money.

I don't have the time to keep up with these things.

How do you feel about next season?

Totally agree getting Stidham boosts chances. He could be the cog that runs AU's offense. With that said he took advantage of Cams "generational" skillset and not only rode him to a national championship but a HC job.Malzahn will be fine as long as Stidham pans out.

I really think we have some retarded fans. We lost 5 games this season and literally 3 of them were the top 3 in the final poll. The only game that we lost and really should have won was the UGA game, they flat out beat us and we should have been a better team.

That is one thing about Malzahn, he wins the easy games and does so handily. This is opposed to Tubbs that would let Samford stay in a 7-3 game into the fourth just because he didn't want to score on them.

we've made some moves here and there with coaching, depth, S&C, discipline etc. but we still keep ending up 8-5 and that ridiculous buyout for sumlin keeps getting smaller.

We dont care enough about winning as much as auburn, tenn, georgia though so we'll just have to wait and see.

We could have done better in the red zone many, many times.

We keep these games too close for comfort.

Auburn no longer has those "special athletes" on defense like we used to.

Times have changed since the 7-3 and 3-2 games.

I didn't follow football closely enough during the Nutt years to even know who our coordinators were. I knew the names of our star players but that's about it. I didn't keep up with the Mitch Mustain stuff either. I still need to watch the documentary about it.

I'm definitely not obsessed with any one coach or team. I'm an equal opportunity troll*

Clearly we know the answer to your question already in January. Great thread. Will be sure to archive for future generations.

But I highly doubt we have a bad enough season to warrant firing Malzahn.

I hope not, we have almost perfected the whirlybird and twirlybird.
