You can't read much into a game with Duke. I do still like the swagger they have and the fact that no matter who is carrying the ball the line blows the D off the ball. They will be tough to beat, but hell this is the SEC. Everyone is tough to beat.
Things change week to week here I am waiting to see them play AR-Kansas; although I suspect with the hogs lack of D and Saban's ability to exploit pass protection it will not be as close as expected.

quote:No that was PSU with a freshman QB who turned the ball over every time they got in the redzone.
Dude, did they play Duke last week
quote:No, that was San Jose St...another BCS juggernaut.
or the week before that
Don't get me wrong. Bama is taking care of business but they have yet to play a real team with a veteran QB who won't shite the bed.

To early to tell how good a team is yet. By the time the BCS rankings come out there will be somewhat of an idea. By the end of week 4 or 5 should be a better idea of how good a team is offensively and defensively. Not enough stats against qualifiable compitition in order to name a legitimate #1.
Now Bama looks to be that team so far but they have not been challenged defensively as of yet. PEN Stae is only a shell of what it was last year. Other than that Bama has played only High School type teams to build stats and that really is unfair but legal. Duke has no one on that team to do anything with Bama. They do not deserve being on the same field.

42-6, still in the first half....

duke is an 8 or 9 loss team this year though. their performance against a (weak) penn st team was impressive.
there's no doubt this is one of the better offenses in CFB, but that defense shouldn't really scare anyone atm

What does LSU have to do with who Bama has played in their early schedule?

Posted on 9/18/10 at 4:14 pm to LSURussian
They are definitely their best team in the SEC right now. I still think that they lose a game or 2 this year though. They have the big target on their back, and every decent SEC will be playing at their best against Bama.

Bama is looking very good offensively, and has shown very good redzone defense against mediocre teams. They deserve the #1 ranking right now.
42-6 vs Duke at half is not better than 30-10 against a much better UNC (even with the suspensions) by LSU.
LSU shat the bed in the second half of that game, but if they are clicking, they are just as dangerous as Bama.
LSU's played tougher defenses than Bama overall too as sad as that is to realize.

Nebraska is the only team that looks like they could play bama on an even field.

No dipshit, but we might be prove to be a competitive game for you. Context clues...

Ugh it takes more than one NC to make you the flagship football team of the SEC. Last I checked UF and LSU has 2 this past decade. You guys are obviously doing well now, but this season is still young.
And we won't even get into academics, other sports, etc.

OU had a rough opening week ( forgive me, but i am not sure if they play today and what the score might be if they do/did) but they looked amazing against the criminoles.
