I see mixed results. I see some showing examples of expectations, while I see others talking about “after Saban” like we will magically start having 5-5 seasons or something.

Well if we are talking historical means then UM and ND will always be national title contenders as will UTjr

ND has been in the conversation more than LSU lately lmaooo

And how has that worked out for them? Have they ever even provided a semblance of resistance? They get in because of the weak arse schedule and the gold on their helmet. You know this just as well as I.

I have to educate your retarded arse on a daily basis.

Well Saban did go .500 in conference play his first year at Alabama.

Most LSU fans are in wait-and-see mode.
I think this describes most folks when it comes to LSU this year. Its not an overall talent question, though there are some problematic areas, its a new coaching staff (OC and DC in the same season is going to be rough) and how quickly they can get the team up to speed.
If they can.
With no insult intended to LSU they are the biggest wild card in the West right now. They could bounce back and be great, they could absolutely mess the bed. They will probably fall somewhere in between but as long as they show progress from last year than I think the fans in Baton Rouge will be Okay.

And try to keep in mind that LSU won a championship with Orgeron as your head coach. We ain't hiring Eddie O.
You offered RR before Saban
And Price, Shula, Dubois

12 national championships before coach Saban ever made it to one of our parades.

Yeah we were shite before Saban came in at the turn of the century too.
actually, LSU before Saban was a mediocre also ran.
For an example, from 1970, when all SEC teams were integrated, till 1999 (year before Saban), LSU was 6th in the conference in winning pct, behind
Alabama
UT
UF
UGA
Auburn
was also behind Arkansas if we count them.
For that matter, from 1970 to this very day LSU is only 5th in the conference behind....
Alabama
UGA
UF
Auburn

The only boiled blood here is the OP for LSU fans having the audacity to be optimistic about their team.

He's very much your typical, super-sensitive Bammer who finds such things offensive. I deal with hordes them everyday so I know what I speak of.

Alabama was very fortunate to land two GOAT coaches.
Outside of them, they have one title between today and the 1940's.
That's nearly Aggie territory.

Different year same tune by the rest of the SEC. Here is the difference between LSU fans and all others, we know we have greatness in us so we expect it every year.
5-5 last year does not mean a damn thing. That is why we have national championships when other teams like Aggie and UGA just flounder each year. You guys look to fail, your doom and gloom is why you suck. We know we are winners and expect that result... Its a new year boys and Tigers are hungry...

The only thing worse than LSU’s offensive line last year was LSU’s defense
Who is betting that they’re both magically improved?
I think thats the $64k question. both sides of the LOS went south in a hurry last year. Thats really not something you can recruit or develop out of in one year

This is really, really stupid. Most championships for all teams tend to come in clusters, that's just the nature of reality in college football.
When you filter out not just the the best, but the best two coaches in ANY school's history, this becomes a near meaningless stat.

Edit: I was trying to give some benefit of the doubt but after some thought I'll say it. This is completely meaningless.
