The one thing I cant wait for Bama to destroy is the myth of Tiger Stadium at night.. What a great record, against a few good teams. I hope the stadium is packed more than ever to witness the absolute destruction of an average team by a true Championship Dynasty.. LSU fans should feel blessed to watch such a juggernaut perform again in their home state.. It will basically be an exhibition after 2 1/2 quarters

Looking at that list does not seem quite so intimidating. I am sure it will be an incredible atmosphere and a slugfest of a game.

Not sure what that means but there is only so many times you can put a W out there, and LSU does it on a consistent basis.

Any game in TS under the present program will be a challenge for the opposing team.

Naw.. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.. I love the collective rah-rah of the LSU fandom, but the reality is this game wont be as close as the last battle between these two Titans of the game. Enjoy your weekend.

I agree with that but according to that list you have 1 win over a top 3 ranked Florida team and several wins over good teams that finished the season with 3-4 losses.

That is certainly less daunting than 37-1 or whatever it is that some folks are claiming to be the the record for night games in TS under Miles.

Les miles is 43-6 at home so i would say its hard to win here at night or day!

jddawg58, you really are a light weight on doing any research on your own. Posting for record stats on home field games is really lazy. Trying to flame the opposition with sophmorish questions illustrates you less than knowlegable background on SEC reputations. The doubts cast by your inquiries can only be labled as flaming. gtfo.

It is an advantage. TS at night is a much more intimidating atmosphere than during the day. However, home field "atmosphere" cannot compensate for an opponent's edge in talent and coaching. Alabama routinely beat LSU in TS, at night, in the 70s ... but the Tide had a decided advantage in personnel. Currently, there is no such advantage in talent. Certainly, Alabama has a signficant edge at the QB position, and that's important. Bottom line - although each team has actually done well on the road in this series, there is no Tiger fan who would give up home field advantage for this game.

LSU has played great at night and prefers to always play at night since the beginning. The night mystique did not start with Miles.

This. LSU at night is hard now because LSU is really good. When LSU isn't very good, it magically wasn't nearly as hard to beat them at home. I think Tiger Stadium is one of the best home field advantages in the country (maybe the best) but I don't think it is substantially more advantageous than any serious football school with a huge stadium. Florida, Auburn, Alabama, even South Carolina, etc. all have a great home field advantage - particularly when those teams are really good.

the funniest part is the last three trips you've made to Tiger Stadium you won in OT to a far less talented LSU team (2008) and then lost in 2010

it's not really a myth, pretty much all teams play better at home...and Saturday night against a top opponent is as crazy as it gets

Florida only scored one TD in that loss in 09 and we were definitely a less talented team. The final was 13-3 but the game was close all the way to the end.

Good luck.

From what I understand about the 1970 (from my father) the only day games we played back then were against bama because the tv network would pick it up as game of the week.

Myth? That's a bit further than I would go. Your assessment is generally correct though.

I would say a night game in TS is an advantage - under the "intangibles" category. When TS is rocking, it is a very intimidating place to be. The longer the tailgating time, the more rowdy the LSU fans are.

Yea I mean clearly the record is inflated due to majority of top games moving to 2:30...but its not a "myth" that LSU is really good, and plays even better at night in TS

FIFY

Lsu fans love to say that bama was far more talented in 2008, it's a moral victory

I don't know if it's a myth or not, but I do know that when that announcer says, "ladies and gentlement it's night time in Death Valley", I get the chills. It's crazy there at night.
I think that it will be more of an advantage than anything else. So much is riding on this game for both schools, it will be rough.

The game will be setteled on the field between the players...fans and stadiums don't matter...if that were the case, Bama wouldn't have waxed LSU's arse for 30 straight years in Baton Rougue....if Bama goes out there and takes care of business, LSU fans will be heading to the exits and back to their tailgates.....The USCe game got pretty quite there for awhile
