It's apparent that the game went to some of the players' heads. He's just trying to instill a little humility. He knows what kind of team he has and doesn't want it undone by complacency, i.e, 2010.

You may be right. I just watched his press conference. Whoa.

He's an egotistical, insane a-hole. Thankfully he is a great coach, recruiter, and that I don't deal with him on a daily basis.

We looked good Saturday, but I fear that our team will eventually start to look like past letdown teams who played scared and joyless from the lack of motivation.

Scared and joyless? Who the hell said they were supposed to be having fun in the first place? They are on scholarship. They are given a free education in exchange for the use of their athletic skills. They have a job to do. I don't care if they're fricking miserable. Just play, and play hard.

Is Saban's negativity

I don't see negativity, at least no more than any other year. Did you miss the other 100 times he's done the same thing? Before the UT title game?

Agree. We play great as an underdog.

Based on what? He's been underdog three or four times since his first year, and lost some. Not a very big sample size nor good game results to prove your claim.

So he wants a different result than 2010 and yet is using the same failed motivational tools that resulted in a 5-3 SEC record in 2010. Screaming "don't be complacent over and over and over does not result in a lack of complacency.

Dudes a fuggin boss, and the players that buy into his awesome system love him. I dont sense at all that he makes it unfun for them. Its not always going to be fun, but the bottom line is that the players LOVE to win, and they know that Saban will help them do that.

STFU Monticello. Seriously. You look like a vagina that can operate a computer.

Wow. Name me one sport, business, team, organization, etc that performs better being miserable than having fun.

You are acting like his motivstional and coaching methods are the reason that we lost 3 games in 2010 which is speculative at best. You really don't know what you are talking about.

His approach to winning a national title is superb. His approach to repeating a national title has so far been unsuccessful.

I see nothing wrong with his approach in '10 or so far this year. He can't play the games himself, he merely gives the team their best opportunity to win. He can't beat leadership, talent, etc into them while controlling all the "luck" that is needed throughout a title season.

He asked a question. I'd rather have a debate than jerk Saban off for the thousandth time.

So you are saying the point of my post is invalid? You could rebut my post instead of making a pointless post.

It does when he now has that 2010 season to point to and say "This is what happens when you get the big head. If this is what you want, then maybe complacency is the right attitude for you. If you want to hold another crystal ball at the end of the season, you need to learn from 2010's mistakes and correct them."

I'm sorry I questioned our Lord and Savior. He was born without fault and none can be found today. Although I deserve the punishment fitting of my blasphemous crime, I beg for your mercy.

This. Coach Bryant spent most of his time before a season started trying to convince the country that they would be lucky to go to a bowl game. Then he would own all their asses and bring home another championship. It's just what he did.
