Is Dabo? No
Dabo is nothing but a bigger version of Ed Orgeron who happened to beat Dabo LOL

Venebles was overrated against better teams , in my view. They should have done better against LSU and Ohio St. Outside of the blowout win against Alabama, the defense wasn't great in the playoffs.
I think the new guy will do better. The defense this year should be the best at Clemson since the blowout win over Bama.
I think Clemson might have a better OC this year as well.

Venebeles had basically been demoted at Oklahoma when Dabo offered him.
He's never going to be head coach at Oklahoma without Dabo seeing something in him first.

Venables has pursued a HC job for years - OU is the only school dumb enough to hire him

I don't think that is true. He was pretty happy being a DC.
Oklahoma and Kansas St are probably the only two jobs he would leave Clemson for.

I don't see any reason to be negative about the new guy at this point. Defense played well in his first game against Iowa St.
The NFL had shown interest in him.

Your defense wasn't underperforming, they just weren't that good.
It's easy to look good in the ACC, Jimbo did it for years.

Exactly.
Jimbo had a team of players that were all drafted into the NFL and who absolutely dominated the ACC yet they had to comeback and barely beat a pretty average talented Auburn team who was a couple of lucky breaks away from 4 losses.

LSU would get beat a lot in the ACC. ACC passes the ball more.
The LSU team Clemson played with Burrow wasn't the typical SEC or LSU team on offense.

The staff bailed on him, no QB room, the recruits they were getting are going elsewhere (took a 3 star class last year), UNC is better making the ACC harder to win in,
Are you sure he’s not washed?

UNC wasn't even in the top 7 or so last year in the ACC.

LSU is 24-2 vs the ACC all time.
Dumbass.

how many of those were on the road and in the past 30 years.
btw, Clemson is at least one of those two losses. lol
Keep in mind there are several ACC teams that used to be in difference conferences.
LSU is 2-7 against FSU, for example.

If he would promise to retire this year if he wins Natty, I will buy him a new boat lol

The average score when LSU meets an ACC team is 28-11.
That means LSU beats ACC teams, on average, by 3 scores when they meet.
