I went to the LSU @ OU game this year, so the game itself probably had a lot to do with this. It only got loud when they scored the go-ahead touchdown and again when LSU was going for it on 4th down on the last drive. After that, the celebration knowing they had a playoff spot was pretty good.
That was the quietest game all year becuase of the wind and weather .With how the offense played and the stakes of the game people were more nervous I think. It did get loud . This years home games have been outstanding …. ESPN even said the Michigan game was one of the loudest games they been to. This years crowd noise has been some of the best in ages . I would rate it up there with anyone’s . Every school claims to have the best and Auburn is a great environment along with Tenn… so far those two would be OUs competition . Bamas wasn’t bad but it wasn’t on the Auburn level . Think most felt LSU last year was underwhelming due to them wanting to fire Kelley after losing to Bama in blowout fashion. It really all depends on the stakes of the games. Unless Bama just blows the doors off OU early this will be the loudest crowd ever at OU I think . The loudest ever was OU Nebraska 2000

No, but the Ags' 51-7 win in Norman always sticks out to me for some reason.

“Plenty loud” is not the same kind of loud as you get at some of the great SEC venues. You don’t get to play the “we suck card”. I’ve seen plenty of bad Tennessee teams at Neyland were we all pretty much knew we were going to lose get far louder than anything I heard at Gaylord. Same goes for Auburn.
Sanford North does get loud before all the Vols leave in the second half for sure

Tenn isn’t loud except for the speakers which pumps about half the crowd noise it’s embarrassing how hard they try to do it ….. not even trying to hide it at all .
Anyone can say what they want but I bet Bama fans deep down after this game will say it’s a very loud stadium even though Auburn is their rival.
