It would be interesting to see in SEC states what the breakdown is for Catholics and who they root for
LSU. More Catholics in La. per capita than any other SEC state.

I'm Catholic and my family and most friends are Catholic and nobody roots for Notre Dame. The only acquaintance I have who roots for ND is a graduate of the school.

I believe the CFP order was inevitable. I firmly believe the CFP Committee examined multiple COAs and made a decision early to include an ACC team in this year's tournament. I believe ND's fate was sealed when Duke beat VA. As I mentioned in several of my earlier posts, if VA had won, Bama would have dropped one spot, similar to BYU, and Notre Dame would have moved to #9 keeping the mythical spacing precluding direct comparison. There was no way the Committee was putting two ACC teams into the field. With VA's loss, the only way to put an ACC representative into the field was either dropping Bama behind ND & Miami or keeping Bama in its current position, dropping BYU, and causing the current controversy. I never thought dropping Bama two or three spots was a viable option...too much punishment for playing in a Championship & Miami would overly benefit by not only making the field, but likely moving into the 9th position due to HTH over ND. Honestly, I think ND was upset more with ACC's leadership because they were openly advocating for the Committee to consider HTH. Kinda like a butthurt step-child when a parent shows favoritism toward a natural born. Probably wanted the ACC to push the narrative that both Miami & ND should trump Bama, not only because of its dismal performance in the Championship Game, but also due to Bama's early season loss to a lower-to-mid tier ACC team, Florida St, by 14pts.

This will get downvoted, but yes they probably are or they used to be. There’s the religious aspect, the Rudy movie aspect and the fact they were always in TV for 50
Years.

Probably Americas team is whoever is playing Bama these days

why do you let ND get under your skin?

Because they want special treatment and believe they are above everyone else.
