Lmao is what it is. If you can’t handle the words coming out of someone’s mouth, it makes sense to label them something negative. Makes it easier for you to disregard anything that doesn’t fit in your bubble.

I'm being serious by this question. If Mullen underperforms this season like a lot of people expect, also considering his failure at recruiting, will he get the boot?

This is about as close to a coaching Hail Mary as we can get. McElwain, with a team missing its best players on defense and offense (Callaway would have uh, probably lengthened his stay alone) -- a team that had a minimum of 12 players missing (Michigan game) to 33, with the average being around 22 - 25 (depending on what site is used) could have easily had a successful year. We were 3 points and a cancelled game away from having 7 wins last year. Feleipe Franks gifted FSU a win (24 points total to the defense by himself, should have been 28). USCe only beat us by one possession at home and needed a miracle fumble on the 1 yard line to even keep it to a touchdown while we missed 28 players and our HC.

What I'm saying is that if a team missing 50% of its starters on both sides of the ball and its Head Coach could have won 9 games, a returning team of 19 starters (the most in the SEC) replacing the Michigan game with an FCS should, without a doubt, get 9 wins.

If we get only 8, I will be extremely worried.

Man, the crow you are going to eat when Mullen starts winning football games. Of course if we win by 7 you will bitch that it should have been by 14. If we go, 10-2 you'll bitch because we weren't 12-0, get the picture? NagaGators, can't live with'em, can't ban'em.

My debate in the Gator board still stands, if you actually want to be taken seriously and make a cogent argument.

You literally said "I don't need to see him coach a single game to know he's a mediocre coach." Pretty bad argument, hoss.

If you take it in context and use a little common sense you can figure out I meant the 9 years of coaching evidence we have from his tenure at that SEC school out west. I know who he is as a coach. He’s not going to change his stripes because he moved locations.

I don’t like that he uses his QB as a battering ram 15 times a game.
I don’t like the coaching staff he has put together.
I think demoting Sieder for Knox was a bad decision.
The emphasis he put on California in recruiting was borderline mental retardation.
What is he doing with the gimmicky workouts and Butch like sayings?
How many times are we going to hear relentless effort while we are sitting in #30th place in recruiting?
Why didn’t he bring in a grad transfer like Burrow?
This is just off the top of my head would you like me to keep going?

my take is Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky, probably Missouri and maybe even Vandy have better athletes than what Florida has on their team this year.

Nah. It's not that bad. 247Sports keeps up with Total Team talent of each roster based on recruiting rankings.... its not been updated yet for this season, but here's where it stood last year:

1. Alabama- 997.57
4. Georgia- 930.54
6. LSU- 907.10
8. Auburn- 854.15
12. Tennessee- 817.35
15. Texas A&M- 807.14
17. Florida- 795.72
18. Ole Miss- 794.86
22. Arkansas- 718.34
25. Mississippi St.- 698.00
27. South Carolina- 697.54
31. Kentucky- 671.45
42. Missouri- 622.91
45. Vanderbilt- 607.68

Recruiting rankings aren't 100% accurate when you zero in on each individual player, but when you're looking at the ratings for an entire roster, they're probably fairly close to reality.

Florida may have lost a lot from last season.... but there's no way programs like Vandy or Kentucky are suddenly equal in talent.

If Florida finishes with a winning record, it will be because Mullen is a crackerjack coach

No, its because they play in the East. And its because they play a bunch of other programs like Florida that have a ton of question marks. Here are where Florida's 2018 opponents rank in the Preseason Coach's Poll:

4. Georgia
18. Mississippi St
19. Florida St
24. LSU
26. South Carolina
43. Kentucky

I mean that's a pretty formidable schedule.

Damn those hillbillies in Miss a pee pee are dumb. First of all Zook had 3 yrs 2002-2004. Second, coaches don't get fired in two years without due cause...cheating etc etc.
Third, y'all some uneducated miscreants that live in single wides with kissing cuzins who have no teeth and resemble dairy cows with cowbells. Fourth:

Mullen hasn't coached a single game yet...but a warning to the ridge runners...ask LSU what happens when you pile on. You get it broke off in your buttski. Keep the hate coming and the Gator locker room will have it plastered on the walls and then plaster you with it.

I don't think many people really understand that in spite of having down years and lackluster coaching stints -- we still recruit just outside of the top 10, so the talent is there, just not the coach with experience (which we now have).

Florida may have lost a lot from last season

We lost our "best" receiver (only healthy one throughout the year) from the slot but replace him with either Toney or prior 4/5* Trevon Grimes from Ohio State. He's literally the only starter we lost on offense.

On defense it's a little harder, but we'll still be okay. We lost our two best DL (Bryan and Sherit) but I'm comfortable with where we're at. Then at NB we replace Dawson with Gardner-Johnson (who is finally playing at his natural position) but our LBs all came back and 4 out of 5 of the DBs (but Gardner-Johnson is back at his natural position and started most of all season, so it's ust as good as having everyone back).

He has to win 9 for me to be content. We outrecruit everyone and so there are no excuses. So we're in agreement there.

This is my take. This isn't $36M worth of effort.

I would invite you to the Gators board to join the debate, but you know how much we value your opinion on all things Gator.
