The bottom line is they played 4 teams who were better than them. They would be 2nd place in the Big East, but will never, ever, compete for the SEC so long as Bama, LSU, and Auburn are solid programs. They went to Atlanta in 1998, when Dinardo, Dubose and Bowden (fired midseason) were coaching and a notorious cheater named Jackie Sherrill was pumping 5 star talent to Starkville.

The four teams that have beaten MSU are a combined 17-3 when not playing Mississippi State or each other. The three losses were to Boise State, Clemson and Arkansas, three teams ranked in the top 10. None of the four has blown MSU out, the margins being 7, 13, 14 and 2 points.

Did you not just get your brains kicked in by Bama and Vandy. Were not good, but at least were competitive. Mullen is not the savior we made him out to be, and we all thought we were better than this, but seriously give me a break.
