this kind of statement in the day and age of NIL and the transfer portal is just pure folly
None of the modern variables have affected Manning's decisions. He chose Texas. He stuck with Texas. He waited out 2 years. All this is unheard of today.
Arch will be back in 2026. The kid is all character.

Here's one for ya, Damon Wilson II was a 2nd generation UGA player, AA defensive end coming out of HS. Had a promising freshman season, already had a starting spot wrapped up and looked like the next big thing on an elite team that sends half a dozen D players to the NFL every season. Its a no-brainer, right? He's playing for Mizzou this season.
So, you might wanna retract that 'unheard of...' statement. Again, NOTHING is a sure thing these days in the crazy world of cfb and when you're talking about a bunch of college kids.

Your spelling of Manning definitely overrated

If his name was John Smith where would he be ranked?

Man are you gonna be disappointed.

We have not idea at this point whether he's over or underrated. I have no idea what the obsession is with trying to assess this before the kid has even started the season. We can make our predictions on what he'll do, but no way anyone can say right now he's over or underrated because he hasn't played one game in this season as the starter. So it's impossible to answer.

It’s the name “Manning”. Nothing more

Why would I retract it? You just gave another example of why I said it.
What do reading comprehension and 8-track tapes have in common?

Remember when you were a kid playing football, and they taught you all these fundamentals of tackling... and you ran drills to practice these skills.
All a joke. All that matters is speed. Many of today's DB's couldn't tackle an old lady coming out of Walmart.
Yet they could stop her car by launching into it with helmet and pads.

Ah yes. Draconian Sanctions, another person who has no awareness there's a world outside of the SEC.
You see, the Super Bowl is this game that's considered the biggest football game of the year, at any level. Both Peyton Manning's and Eli Manning's teams won two of those apiece. Most people think there's some pressure involved in that environment. The claim is the Manning's wilt under pressure.
But to you that doesn't matter because it wasn't in the SEC. Got it.

for our purposes as fans of SEC schools, it doesn’t matter
maybe when Arch is 32 he will win the big one.

Who knows? Everyone gets criticized for not winning a championship until they do. That's just how it works.
Michael Jordan will never win a championship

we’ve had 3 Mannings quarterback in the SEC, and all 3 of them put up stats and had a few nice moments, then fell flat when it mattered most. no reason to believe Arch will be any different.
and in fact given that he’s at Texas, who themselves frequently fall flat on the big stage, you’ve got a recipe for a spectacular flame out. looking forward to is

Sounds great! I enjoy your interest in our program!
We'll see what happens. I'm glad he chose Texas. There's no guarantees in life, so we'll see what the season brings.
I just know that everyone gets criticized for not winning the whole thing until they win the whole thing. That is universal.

He doesn't pay attention to the hype, at all. People on message boards and in the media are hyping him up and tearing him down and he doesn't give a shite. He's been trained well.
