You do realize that LSU made Saban and Miles among the top paid coaches at their times, matching the other schools with unlimited budgets at their times? And that we have consistently had among the top assistant coaching staffs, if not the highest? BTW, how many assistants make more than Aranda? Oh, yeah, and...

No, just pointing out where we haven't been afraid to pay to reward success. I could have pointed out the massive amount spend to upgrade facilities when Saban got here but didn't need to. But that was an investment that paid off dividends. After reading more, the problem with the OP is that he is trying too hard to make an argument. He should just lick his wounds and stop.

He is trying too hard to make arguments on false premises and using circular logic to do it.

Make no mistake, Woodward to LSU has shaken Aggy to their very core.

LSU doesn't have a "money situation" you fricking retard.

I don't understand why this is so difficult for little brother to understand.

We explain it to you nearly every week.

Not really. Our football coach has 9 years left on his deal and our BBall coach has 6 years.

A deal that he can end, at any time, on his whim. He wouldn't owe you a dime for screwing your entire football program over.

Only $67,500,000 to go!

Let's see, 9 years times 8 wins is 72 wins, into $67,500,000 goes 937,500 times.

Under a million dollars per win...

So you don’t think outbidding other schools to attract top coaches will be an issue for LSU? Because this contradicts other LSU fans in this thread

Who said LSU can't outbid other schools?

And why your obsession?

Never said you couldn’t, it’s whether you want to and your admin/donors feel comfortable doing it.

You said a few pages ago that fair market value is the priority in finding a coach

This does not change Aggy being lil bro AF. Which should be the ultimate takeaway of this thread.

Even though we expect Louisianian, Baton Rouge native son, and LSU alumnus Woodward's influence, reputation, skills, and contacts to increase LSU donation coffers, LSU is not hurting.

Only 11% of the LSU system budget comes from State government.
Plus, LSU is undergoing the ForeverLSU, Tiger Athletic Foundation, and LSU Foundation fundraising quality thrusts, among others.
In addition, LSU is one of the top 30 research institutions in the nation, and the Pennington Biomedical Research Institute continues to prosper.
The LSU Press is one of the top University publishers in the nation.
LSU also continues to enjoy Tier I status while having numerous nationally ranked curricula and programs (Internal Auditing, Petroleum Engineering, Hurricane Engineering, Music and Dramatic Arts, Agribusiness. Landscape Architecture, etc.)

The fact that the LSU Athletic Dept., one of the few that turns a profit, CONTINUES to donate to the University academic side annually is LAGNIAPPE. That might be to sophisticated a Louisiana word for your Tex brain to understand. Sorry.

Go wait in line at Pappadeaux's.Hope you don't get sick. Too much.

Jealousy's a bitch isn't it?

Not only that, but LSU athletics is required,by state law, to give back to the University.

That is the effect and not the cause.

The cause is a university president who has political aspirations and cares about the optics of spending big money on head coaching hires.

The effect is LSU fans worked out some rationale for these political consequences.
