Name me a team with a better record than LSU in 2007. LSU was very deserving of the national title. No other team that year was more deserving than LSU. That is not a backdoor title. How bout Alabama getting into title game in 2011 without even winning the sec west and getting a mulligan. One could easily argue that was the most backdoor title ever!

Not luck really. Don't need a great coach when you have lots of talent. When they had both... boom. With Orgeron they had a great QB and athletes most everywhere else. Orgeron was lucky... not really LSU.
LSU consistently has excellent athletes and for a long stretch great defense.
