Depends on the system you want to use them in.
If I was going to run the ball and go for the home run then I take Mallett no questions asked.
If I am running a "WCO" I take Locker as he is more mobile and throws on the run a bit better.
Both have great feet and good mechanics.
I agree.
He isn't Michael Vick, Matt Jones, or Vince Young.
He isn't going to scramble. But if you are looking for a pure, NFL style drop back passer, he's your man.

2007
Jake Locker
YEAR CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT
2007 155 328 2062 47.3 6.29 98 14 15 17 105.01
Ryan Mallett
YEAR CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT
2007 61 141 892 43.3 6.33 97 7 5 12 105.69
I was so wrong. It's obvious that A QB with half the attempts and half the touchdowns is obviously better.

Evaluate MALLETT. Watch his rhythm. Watch the velocity of the ball. Watch him make reads. Watch his command.
I get this...I really do. And from an NFL perspective, Mallett, physically, is a dream prospect. But if all 10 other players were exactly the same, RIGHT NOW, I would rather play against Mallett. If only for the inexperience and mobility factor.

Most of the SEC backs had better numbers than McFadden his True Freshman year.
I guess most of the SEC backs > Darren McFadden?
Evaluate Mallett. Seriously, click on any of the 100 links I have provided to Saturday's game.
You watch him, then get back with me. Seeing as how you are the objective one, I would love for you to give me a report on what you see,

Do all Arkansas fans puke and shite themselves before the game? I saw one Hog fan in LR covered in his own shite and puke a few years back. Naturally, now I assume all Arkansas fans do this.

We were comparing quarterbacks not running backs. Last i saw Manning was still quarterback for the colts.
