More legitimate question.

How the hell is that irrelevant?

It'll be different years!

You do know players being drafted is done by need, right? Needs from teams change from one year to the next.

Besides...riddle me this.

Who got drafted higher? Ryan Leaf or Tom Brady? Which one would you rather have?

Fromm has been nothing but a game manager his career at UGA.

So why couldn’t fields beat him out?

Yes, UGA suddenly started signing 4 or 5, five star recruits per year. Purely by happenstance. Purely coincidental. Right?

It's funny how Georgia always got criticized for not keeping the best players in the state at home. Now that the recruiting has improved and this has started happening, it HAS to be because of cheating. It can't possibly be because Smart has loaded his staff with ace recruiters, right?

You’re not helping your argument at all.

True. QB's never get drafted very often. They are probably the least needed position of teams.

Because we are talking about college rather than pro projections.

I didn't think you would catch on. Brady was drafted lower than leaf....by a lot. Using a draft position is hardly a good way to prove one QB is better than another.

Now do you understand?

This is what we are trying to decide. Fields is definitely far more athletic and looks to be a better QB than Fromm.

Perhaps he is , but in 2018 he was not. So it really is pointless to talk about in a thread about Smart...

I remember UGA fans piss mouthing Fromm and screaming for Fields.

Name the position that is not needed. I'll wait. Are you still arguing that where a QB is drafted is proof that he is better than another QB?

He must not have been ready in 2018. He had his chances and never proved himself

I remember Auburn fans saying Jeremy Johnson would win the Heisman.

Why would past records indicate where Georgia would finish this season?

We were high on JJ. Kid had everything you wanted to see. He just couldn't read a D.

The Indianapolis Colts owned the first draft pick that year. Team scouts favored Leaf, but Colts president Bill Polian and coaching staff preferred Manning

The scouts preferred Ryan Leaf over Peyton Manning. Leaf "looked" better.

Hardware and record wise Smart is very similar to Richt. I am not sure if Richt ever let more talented QBs walk to keep a great game manger. Smart seems to be missing the big picture of winning a tile. Bama and Clemson the top 2 football programs bench good QBs for more talented young guys . I would be mad if I was a Georgia fan. They may finish with a good record the next 2 years with Fromm but they won’t win a title.
