And our players are now perfect gentlemen at the dinner table. No more thugs on the team. Just on the staff apparently.

Mizzou is at rock bottom historic lows. The only one that seems confused is you honestly....I
I respect you BUT (Insert ad homs here)

P5 history? Probably not, Mizzou history, yes.
I challenge you to find a worse coach with a 3 year or longer tenure at a P5 school. The closest I could find was a Northwestern coach (can't remember his name, but he preceded Byrdsong, who was also awful).

While I don't believe that Kim Anderson is a very good basketball coach, his record as a D-1 doesn't clearly reflect what he is as a coach.
After all of the off-the-court controversy at Mizzou in the last few seasons I think that all of their coaches have been placed in an unwinnable situation. The problem with Mizzou has nothing to do with it's coaches and everything to do with Mizzou.

Is Mizzou going to pull the plug on Anderson after this season? Because your strong basketball program was a big selling point to get you in the league. And since that fateful moment, it has imploded into one of the worst dumpster fire abortions I've ever seen. I don't think you'd be competitive in the Big Sky conference right now. Get it together, man. Roll your sleeves up and get to work. You don't have to win the Capital One cup but at least put up a fight for the conference SOS in all sports. Clean house and start over, you're embarrassing yourselves.

Johnny Jones has a winning record against Kim Anderson.

This thread is 100% Michael's attempt to put himself down after he fell into the koi point. Too far! LINK

To be fair to Anderson, he inherited a completely toxic program. It was a sinking ship and I don't think any unestablished coach could have done well. He's a buffer between the end of the Haith era and the next coach, and I think he's served his purpose.
The next hire definitely needs to bring energy to the program. I think it either has to be a big name or a charismatic up-and-comer. A solid retread like Cuonzo wouldn't be a good hire, imo, because the biggest problem with the program is the energy and a just "solid" coach won't provide enough spark. And since I don't think a big name would go to Mizzou in this state unless the $$$ is huge, it should be an up-and-comer. I've seen Keatts' name thrown around; he'd be good. Matt McCall would be good, too.

We could've hired someone who would've done things "the right way" and still won at least one conference road game, retained at least one four star existing signed (Kim has had at least three transfer out) and signed at least two of the 10 or so top recruits coming out of Missouri.
So, while I understand he was in a rough position to start with, I think 1) it wasn't as rough as advertised and 2) it's been made worse from a pure basketball standpoint by him, not stabilized. Haith's last year here we went to the NIT and won 23 games. Kim has barely won 23 games in 3 years.

True, Haith's last team wasn't bad, but that team lost Clarkson, Brown, and Ross. Anderson's first team was JW3 and a bunch of freshman. Sure, there was some decent talent in that group, but that team was going to suck, Haith or Anderson. And it's not surprising that a bunch of those guys decided to bail after that awful year, because, after all, they weren't Anderson recruits.
I think you're underselling how tumultuous Haith's tenure was -- sure, he had some success, but there was always a ton of turnover in his program and he left it with sanctions on top. It's not the same situation that Cuonzo inherited from Pearl; Tennessee under Pearl was an extremely stable program compared to Mizzou under Haith. The sanctions made an unstable environment toxic.
I don't think the atmosphere is as toxic now as when Haith left. That's probably Anderson's only selling point. But I think that there's a much better chance now of Mizzou finding a coach who can be successful there than there was after Haith bolted for Tulsa.
