I think Auburn has already tied the regular season record for quad 1 wins. Kansas of 2023 had 17 but 2 were tournament wins.

Yes. I think Kansas that year was 15-6 against Quad 1 opponents during the regular season.

I think people are confused in this thread.

The OVERALL #1 seed vs one of the four #1 seeds.

The OP was ? If Auburn could drop to a 2 seed.

That cannot happen.

I said that in multiple posts as well. Auburn is a 1 seed no matter what.

Now, if UK were to win today and beat lsu mid week, they might jump to a 2 seed. That would be nice.

Lunardi said AU could forfeit the remainder and still be a 1

Yes. Loose 2 of 3 and first sec tourney game. Meanwhile a projected two seed goes on a tea

SEC tournament will have ZERO impact for AU.

Last 3 games:

@UK - AU hasn't won in Rupp since 1988
@aTm - Buzz has owned Bruce, going 5-2 against him
vs bama - Nate has a winning record vs Bruce and bama has been on fire the last 2 games

If AU went 0-3 (unlikely, but certainly possible), do they drop to a 2 seed?

*IF* you lost all 3, AND a #2 seed went off, AND all the other projected #1 seeds won out...

Still no. Auburn's safe.

MAYBE... maybe if they got blown out in all 3 games. Something like 30+ point losses in all 3.

A lot folks would definitely be wondering WTF happened if you did.

I doubt they would drop to a 2 if they lose out, I think 4th overall might be about the lowest they would drop. Even that would require a lot of things to happen perfectly. So no, I think they are guaranteed a 1 seed.

Sorry I didn't see where Lunardi said they are locked in, so I would take his word for it.
