Truth.
But everybody has their good points and bad points. Every time I think I can't take these Midwesterners anymore, I visit home and realize things aren't all magnolias and pecan pie the way I remember it down there either.

Troy is clearly the top university with the best fans in the state. No sidewalk fans here

Am not reading the entire thread...
Fans are fans, but Auburn has a MUCH higher percentage of fans with a DIRECT connection to the school (they either attended the school or family members did). Alabama has a wider range of fans from the Alumni (generally a good group) down to the Updyke, Sons of Saban fans.

Well, the revenue thread would indicate otherwise per Auburn posters. So there's that.

You really believe that don't you?

Is there any evidence to back that up?

Yes, home games at the "Harvard on the Highway" are well attended. Well, as long as it doesn't interfere with either Auburn or Alabama kicking off.

Grew up In Birmingham so the majority of my friends have always been Alabama fans. I actually think the new generation of Bama fans are becoming a little more reasonable.
Most of my Bama friends mock their own fanbase and have fun with it. They just accept that a lot of Bama fans are crazier than most. and don't get defensive like a lot of posters in this thread.

We're such big fans, we don't pay the university through tuition for the games even though we don't go to some of them. And we clearly value getting an education more than supporting a football team, which makes us better than AU/UA students and alumni.

DEFENSIVE, who in the flip are you talking about?
Oh, and "defense" wins championships.
