Which have bigger capacity...SEC Basketball Arenas or Baseball Fields?

At State the baseball field capacity exceeds the basketball arena by 5,000ish

School - basketball arena capacity/baseball stadium capacity:

Alabama - 15,383/8500 - Basketball Bigger
Arkansas - 19,368/10,737 - Basketball Bigger
Auburn - 9,121/4,096 - Basketball Bigger
Florida - 10,133/5,500 - Basketball Bigger
Georgia - 10,523/3,291 - Basketball Bigger
Kentucky - 23,500/3,000 - Basketball Bigger
LSU - 13,215/10,326 - Basketball Bigger
Ole Miss - 9,500/8,500 - Basketball Bigger
Mississippi State - 10,575/7,200 - Basketball Bigger
Missouri - 15,061/3,031 - Basketball Bigger
USCe - 18,000/8,242 - Basketball Bigger
UT - 21,678/4,283 - Basketball Bigger
aTm - 12,989/6,100 - Basketball Bigger
Vandy - 14,316/3700 - Basketball Bigger

So...that shows what schools think is more popular...actual attendance may show otherwise for some schools.

The baseball stadium seating may be 7,200 but the capacity is 15,000 plus. 15,586 is the largest single game attendance at the Dude.

There's no question basketball is more popular.

The revenue and profit numbers for baseball are laughable except at LSU.

The Advocate

quote:

College baseball is a losing sport, even in the part of the country where it thrives. In fact, just four Southeastern Conference baseball teams turned a profit last season, according to documents obtained by The Advocate from league schools.

quote:

Year in and year out, the Tigers are. They made profits of $1.6 million in 2015 and $1.8 million in 2014, records show.

How good are those figures? Outside of A&M, just two SEC baseball teams made money last year. Ole Miss turned a profit of $28,166, and Arkansas made $16,530.

quote:

Tennessee lost more than $4 million on baseball in 2016. Florida, Auburn, Georgia and Kentucky all lost at least $2 million.

In summary, LSU made money on baseball. A&M claimed to make money because of donations. Arkansas and Ole Miss did a little better than break even. Everyone else lost a significant amount.

Baseball isn't even close to being the same level as basketball and football. It's behind women's basketball most places. I enjoy it, but I don't know why people on here pretend it's big time.
